Hello,

Now that KvR has got his own sampling forum, I may consider the following URL of your interest, comparing different sampler quality engines:

Thanks...

I've seen this before, a friend sent it to me...

I think its a shame that the samplers are that bad, especially seeing how a lot of the new libs coming out are 48kHz...

They aren't all that bad. I see at least two with very nice response.

just LOOK at that Tracktion sampler though....OMG  :-o

Several of the samplers show significant improvement when rendered, according to the test. Isn't that really what's most important?

Have I got this right? The clearer the picture, the cleaner the sample?
Im amazed at exs24 and Kontakt, very revealing!

whoa..that's kind of disturbing seeing that..kinda like looking up your granny's dress :troll:

Traktion's sampler's hurting, no doubt. :drunk:

Orion' sampler looks like it did pretty damn good

Kontakt's was a big surprise for me :x

& I would have thought Reason's sampler would do better as well. :(

Nice job, Rene! 8)

Hi
I think it is importent to know how much cpu Sfz+ is using to get this result.

Jeskola uses much lesser cpu with nearly the same sound quality.

From what I can tell, Fruityloops has the highest quality of all samplers in that list (when rendered). Correct me if I'm wrong?

Something that's kinda hidden on this page is [ FL Studio's 256 Sinc rendering for the sampler ].

Geore, why leave this one out, especially when it's Arguru that coded it :?:

It is in the page too, you may have overlooked it. Check Google cache this time ;) You will see "Fruity Loops 4.1 VSTi Sampler" and "Rendered", each to their respective realtime and offline image links.

Hello,

A little bump to inform I have just updated the page with:

- Shortcircuit
- Speedsoft VSampler 3.5 (update)
- discoDSP HighLife
- MOTU Machfive 1.2 (thanks to Phil for the waves)

Happy comparisons :D

It's very easy. You only need a 15khz sinewave sample as root (C-4) and proceed to play from C-4 to B-4 and B-3 to C-3 (backwards) at 80 bpm. You may check the .rar waves at the website to have a listening reference too.
