Mote In Gods Eye
Inspired by the classic scifi novel of the same name.
Conceptual tech-house narrative: space launch, first contact, communications break down where in battle ensues.

All made using U-He's beta version of the Hive synthesizer (48 instances if you care about those things). All patches created by me. Programmed and mixed in Live 9 using native effects and TDR Kotelnikov, Nova67P and Limiter6.

I'm also linking to a bunch of presets I made in creating this track. It doesn't represent everything because I made a lot of tweaks in production but it's a start:

I don't want to be a party pooper, but I think we might have a problem accepting this track for the KVR Competition. There is a rule (that nobody knows about) that states that in order to be able to compete in the KVR OSC, you have to be a human being. I'm afraid that your submission proves without a shadow of a doubt you are an alien from a planet that is far more advanced in making music than whatever creature that lives on earth.

I'm sorry, but as long as the rules are not changed (allowing aliens to compete), we can't approve your submission.

(One last thing.. please abduct us!)

Jasinki's track is phenomenal! It's not normally the type of music I listen to but I can certainly appreciate the production skills, arrangement, and the sound design involved to create it, all top notch!! Well done indeed mate

I revived my vintage 2006 KVR account and I'm going to try this! It may go horribly wrong. But then I can blame the fact that I only had a week to finish it.

Hi guys, I did it again ...
I must admit, at first, I was about to skip this month: Not so much time and missing musical ideas. I was uninspired clicking on the Hive-GUI,

but then I found these awesome soundsets you thankfully shared.

And at once the song was born ...

Using only slightly modified presets, I know I will get points deduction in the voting for sounddesign

. But the fun I had with it compensates this disadvantage

.
So let me thank you for the sounds of my 8 instances in Cubase LE4:

At first "Rendevous with saws", the two ARPs "Stepping through time" and "Acidity", then the "H3K KickDrum.01" and "Snare 2" (??), the "EDM Bass", Lead 1 is "LD Syntar Soloist" and finally for Lead 2 and elephants "Big Muff Hives_or_SynHorn".

I just noticed this OSC thing yesterday and I am glad I did; this was fun. All sounds and song made quickly & with a smile the whole time.

DAW - Ableton Live 9
26 Tracks of Hive (my patches for this)

Note: My original version used a commercial reverb plug-in. I have replaced that with Live's reverb.

Thank you z.prime. I have removed the commercial plugin and replaced it with the DAW's native reverb.
