The fact they have been (are, will ever be, whatever) good guys and all does not justify their lack of communication. For instance, nobody outside KVR forum know they ceased sales. They did not even send an email, nothing. If it wasn't for this thread I would not know anything at all, that is the truth. And now two weeks have passed. That's the reason for all the jokes among CA supporters, I guess: "acute stress reaction" (something unexpected, like when one discovers by chance to be betrayed by a partner who was supposed to be 100% trusted).

Ouch gosh you put it that way and I sort of do feel hurt by this. I... Reminds me of my third, fourth, fifth... maybe dozenth love. Ah she was wonderful. And my emotions welled into a great outpouring of love, and I told her (as well as showed her) that I loved her. And she ripped my heart out and tossed it into the deep abyss only a beautiful, smart and talented woman can access... But - sad sap that I am - I still love her. No idea what became of her, don't stalk her, just wish her well.
Ah love. Maybe there's a reason it's a four-letter-word?

Regardless of the reasons why they ceased doing business I can imagine discussions were held over the impact of deciding to cease operations the way they did. Unless they are completely insensitive to their fairly extensive customer base, and based on the perception people have of Ben til now I would have to think that the decision to handle things this way was not easy and has to be somewhat uncomfortable for them. So the only thing I can think of is that extenuating circumstances forced them to do it this way and hopefully time will reveal what those circumstances were if for no other reason than to satisfy our puzzled curiosity.
We may disagree in the final analysis on the wisdom of this approach and we can speculate ad nauseam in the interim but it won't change a damn thing until then. They were a good company with a good product and seemed to really care about their base. That is why things turning out the way they have is so enigmatic and apparently out of character. We could get angry I suppose but that won't change anything either. I have their products now and will continue to use them regardless. Alchemy 2 had promise and I probably would have acquired it but as a musician I have learned to work with what is.
Also, as a person who was fairly heavily involved in M-RGT music and its sudden demise I know what it feels like to be let holding the proverbial "bag," without a sensible closure. We all want closure that is understandable if for no other reason than it puts some rationale to the seemingly inexplicable.
In any case I am getting Omnisphere 2 to assuage my frustration and by April I will have regained my will to live

Oddly enough, M-RGT is also one of those plugins I consider to be something for others to aspire to. Quite special and many still harbor hope for its return too.Bobbotov wrote: Also, as a person who was fairly heavily involved in M-RGT music and its sudden demise I know what it feels like to be let holding the proverbial "bag," without a sensible closure. I wish. And we had another synth almost on virtual release that was very cool - PsyDuo.BBFG# wrote:Oddly enough, M-RGT is also one of those plugins I consider to be something for others to aspire to. The fate of Boris' disappearance is very disturbing to me as he was a really good friend and co-collaborator. If I had it my power to resurrect the existing synths and the new one I would do so in a heart beat. But, alas, I am precluded by principle to do such a thing as I do not own the IP.

Right? We only had a few minor tweaks to do and it was a done deal. I still use it for my own stuff but I wish I could share itBBFG# wrote:

It had a lot of potential and was a lot easier to program than PsyGen as it was only two channel instead of sixteen (no sequencer) yet still had a lot of sonic oomph! Boris' ability to find really unusual aspects of Synthedit was amazing. I did encourage him to move to C ++ but it was out of his comfort zone. We were excited about Synthedit 64 but I bemoaned the inability to provide Mac support.
Now I am depressed

Don't say you bought Alchemy last summer and were keenly awaiting Alchemy 2 when this thread forced Camel Audio into an alternate universe.liquidsound wrote:What happened then.....Bobbotov wrote:Right? Ok, say it. We haven't had a cathartic release in over 10 pages.

No. Why are you still here?hibidy wrote:Is this thread still going?
We've all taken our Camel credits over to the Omnifear thread and will be spending them wildly.

Prolly the smart choice. Domestic or imported?
