option drag not working on multiple notes

I'm trying to compose my first phrase i.e. via note editing mode, I pretty quickly ran into an issue where I wanted to repeat the last two notes of a phrase immediately.

So I lasso-ed the notes, held "option" on my Mac keyboard then tried with both a trackpad and a regular mouse (separate attempts) attempt to copy the notes to the target spot on my timeline by while holding the option key , left clicking on one of the selected notes and then dragging to the target spot.

Result:

the notes were indeed copied however, or better said, only the note that I had performed the left click directly over gets copied, the rest get "moved".

Please advise if I am not performing this process as intended.

Strange. This works on my macbook. When I hold 'option', all selected notes were copied. Does this happen for every attempt?

I"ll make an attempt to test this scenario again tomorrow, are you on latest Mac OS X ?

I tried this on 10.7 and 10.10.
