Do you really think this is nasty, asking questions?

Maybe you should just call me a troll, as I want to see some action from the silent party?

i can imagine it would pretty impossible for him to maintain a 'normal' presence here while all this is happening

it has been posted that he is ok
Yes I read that as well.........his presence here was "normal" long before he joined CA and he went silent long before the announcement.

i am curious to know what scenario you have in mind whereby they could communicate something now that they couldn't for the entirety of january ??

not being facetious, it's a genuine question

i doubt this is your first entry in this fantastic thread, so why this new energy into inquisition, then condemnation ??

what do you think has happened to camel audio ??

If they are under LEGAL obligations then no.

Even IF there is a moral obligation to their customers.

After being in that situation myself I can full well understand how they must feel as well.

All that can be done is to be patient. It will be revealed in due course.

A few months of silence which was the point when I thought: "There must be something wrong with Camel Audio, ZenPunkHippy doesn't make support for it anymore!"

yes, it's one of the biggest casualties of this situation, but it's understandable.

I hope ZenPunkHippy is still alive...
Yes he is still alive, and is still a thoroughly lovely guy, all the camel audio crew are still alive.
Hunter,
Are you able to tell us whether we (i.e. the public) are likely to find out what has actually happened in due course (or at least some of it) or is the current situation (no comment from anyone involved in Camel Audio) going to continue indefinitely?
Ta.

Well, you can't walk into this forum without seeing this thread parked at the very top, I think it is time for CA to get on with it

Maybe they have taken an idefinite break, doing some kind of college course in how to best serve customers

What kind of legal obligations can that be, that demands this kind of total silence. Are these guys now living in the free world, or some kind of corporate dictatorship state?

if there has been an acquisition that includes some kind of NDA, that would explain it. it would be a contract between camel audio and the buyer, and nothing to do with being forced against their will, or dictated to

now, were they to be issued with some kind of cease-and-desist....that might also come with certain legal obligations towards a period of silence (though i know less about this side of things)

If that should be the case, how can downloads from that site still be allowed?

You may want it to be over, but it won’t be that fast, clean, or simple. Your new owners are going through a transition too. Despite their due diligence, it’ll take months to roll out their plan. You see, your new regime didn’t just purchase client lists, patents, products, and infrastructure. They also bought talent, networks, and institutional knowledge. And that takes time to sort through. Despite the eerie calm, there is plenty happening behind the scenes. And big changes are ahead. You may be tempted to hunker down, keep your head low, and wait for the storm to pass. In reality, you’re better off getting ahead of the changes and making the most of this changeover

What amazes me a little is how corporate the whole plugin arena is.

In the "free" world, newspaper journalists would call up or try and investigate a little (maybe even on foot) what is going on, when a company suddenly just goes to the ground.

( when a footballer is sold it is always listed for an "undisclosed amount", but for some reason or other, journalists working in that area manage to dig out the actual going price )

But Computer Music, Future Music, MusicRadar et al, not interested in getting a story.

This is what Music Radar managed to write:
We've contacted Camel Audio for confirmation that this is indeed the end for the company, which is known for its excellent Alchemy synth (voted one of the best plugin synths in the world today) and 'Camel' series effects. We're sure we echo the feelings of many computer musicians when we say that we're sad to see it go; if you are a user of its products, make sure you follow the advice to download and back up your software on the Camel Audio website.
Wow, some really insightful journalism there :o

they are not interested in getting shut down by a billion dolllar company

Camel are silent, it will stay that wat until they are allowed or choose to change that. You can stamp you feet and throw your toys as far as you like (you can even take the ball home with you) but that wont change

move on ppl, there is literally nothing to see here
