Just noticed this controller on the EMusician's "best of" list and it caught my attention. Anyone have experience with it? Is it more precise and dependable than the Leap Motion which covers some of the same territory? I also seem to remember a cheaper ring based controller which was announced a while ago but seems to have disappeared - any updates on that?
EDIT:
That other one is IK Multimedia iRing Motion Controller - any opinions on how well that works?
Source Audio Hot Hand USB controller opinions?

I don't have the motion to compare it too but it is pretty accurate and the controller editor makes it easy to setup

the Leap Motion is a great device - I do feel it's in a different category then the Hot Hand USB, especially when it comes to live performance.
The Hot Hand does really well on stage and gives you the freedom to walk around (100 feet). With the "smooth" parameter you can adjust your movement to be razor sharp (which works well if you want to set up triggers… quick motion sends a MIDI CC), create wobble sounds live, etc. With the hi smooth value it's easy to create live buildups, long washy effects and transitions… but I feel this is just the beginning.
I've been experimenting also mapping the Midi Pitch Effect along with the Midi Scale effect in ableton to actually play notes in harmony with the track.
I'm always curious to seeing what other people come with by using the Hot Hand.
