What I want to know is why the hell the won't make the new Attack plugin for desktop look like the iPad version of Attack!!? The iPad version GUI looks so much more user friendly whilst the 'updated' desktop version remains exactly the same as the old version besides some changes in color scheme.

The new Attack plugin will include new feature for the effects and Sample support.LFO8 wrote:What I want to know is why the hell the won't make the new Attack plugin for desktop look like the iPad version of Attack!!? As mentioned many times the current GUi is already improved in terms of e.g. font/background contrast.
Waldorf Editon 2 is not finished yet, same about Nave.
I could not comment on the iPad App as i do not own an iPad myself. So far opposing to the computer plugins I am also not involved with Betatesing for the iOS Apps in any way.
Anyway this thread is about the current plugins. A discussion about upcoming products is here:

If you have the license on the USB dongle it is possible to use it on multiple computers without problems (e.g. on a desktop PC and notebook here). At least this work for me since several years (Largo since 2009).lofty wrote:(I own Largo & PPG3 and out of 75 or so AU/VST synths I own they are the only 2 that I would strongly advise against buying. Unlike all the other software I have, the Waldorf kit is unable to be installed on more than one computer, customer service is generally of a low standard - long delays, not very helpful, inconsistent advice - including that the USB eLicencer would allow installation on both desktop and laptop with a single licence so I bought one and then customer service said it wouldn't actually be any use. Plus the software seems amongst the least stable synths I own. It's a shame because when they worked it was quite nice sounds they could make but will never buy anything from Waldorf again. I quite like the EditionLE bundle - perhaps that and Vember Surge with its waldorf tables is a more sensible option than daft policy of Waldorf of having to buy it twice to run on a desktop and laptop simultaneously)
The Plugins are usually running nicely here. Of course simce there are all kinds of plugin formats (64-bit/32-bit, VST2, VST3, AU, AAX) it is possible tat in certain OS/host/plugin combinations there could be remaining problems. We had some cases where even at a similar setup a bug that was reported was difficult to be replicated.
Personally i am testing at Windows 7 64-bit and got full versions of 6 hosts (Cubase 7.5, Live 9, Studio One 2.6, Reaper 4, Pro Tools 10 and Pro Tools 11) and alo the demo of Bitwig Studio. Even with that for me it is not possible to exclude every possible bug with certain plugin/host combinations.
As just reported there could be issues with the latest OSX 10.10.2 while this work with the previous version of Yosemite.
Anywa we try to solve any serious bugs but as we are also working on Beta for Waldorf Edition 2 and the Nave plugin it could happen that a fix takes a little longer than usual.
Which combination of Plugin, OS, Host and plugin format do you observe problems with?
Of course we will try to solve stability issues if possible.

So the point is that you only need two licenses when running the same plugin on two computers at the same time, not when using on one machine at the same time.lofty wrote:to quote from customer support earlier this week: "You need to have two licenses and two eLicenser USB Dongles, and a second license too. When you like to run simultaneously you need to have one license for each machine."
which contradicted earlier advice that, "You can install Largo/PPG Wave 3.V on as many computer as you want. If you transfer the license to a eLicenser key, you only need to put this key into an USB slot of the corresponding computer."
and when I forwarded the earlier message to Waldorf customer support, this was their response, "why you send me this ? I wrote you already how it works When you want to use Largo or PPG 3.V on to machines, in the same time, you need to have 2 full licenses. When you want to install on 2 machines, but use only on machine 1 OR machine 2, you need one license. This license needs to be on a eLicenser USB Dongle, which you can put in the one or other machine. You can run the VSTi’s on that machine where the USB Dongle is connected to. Thats it."
indeed, that is it - at least for me and trying to seek assistance to get e250 worth of synths to work on my laptop.
Of course when running on two machines at the same time you need two licenses. This is also not different at other companies, even if with a serial protection it is more simple to "override" this.

lofty, there is nothing wrong with their answer. The key word is simultaneously. If you need to run Largo on two computers at the same time, you need two licenses. If you need to run your license on two computers one after another, you just need one eLicenser dongle. Move your license to the dongle and replug when you move to another workplace.

Multiple computers is not supported in software version of eLicenser. To use software protected by eLicenser on multiple computers you need to buy usb dongle. Just to be clear: it is not a limitation of Waldorf software, but a limitation of third party copy protection system that they use.

I my first post today i mentioned that the new OSX 10.10.2 update could cause new problems with the plugins and that we (including our developer) are checking possible issues.lofty wrote:I should add this is for OSX10.10.2 with Logic10.1.0 and Live9.1.7 and that I am unable to install PPG and Largo on the laptop - Live crashes at start-up, Logic AUs do not pass validation and the eLicencer merely states that the activation codes have already been used, using the USB eLicencer does not resolve problem.
Both Largo & PPG3 work (sometimes) on a desktop OSX10.9 with Logic9 - just using the eLicence soft which means a USB eLicencer is not required. Anyway despite patiently waiting for assistance from Waldorf with this matter - no useful help was offered and I am unable to active either software on my laptop so I've just written it off as a lesson learned not to purchase from them again.
Not sure if your reported problem is already known but i'll forward it ASAP.
This means there is no general stability issue but it is related top the latest OSX update.
FWIW both Largo and PPG Wave 3.V were already updated for previous versions of OSX Yosemite but the new OSX update causes new problems.
I could not test this myself as i only got Windows 7 64-bit here where this doesn't happen.

Unfortunately I'd have to agree that their support is bad. They make simple mistakes in their suggestions like telling me to reinstall windows when that has nothing to do with the issues, they are not always very polite, in some cases down right dismissive of the problem even when you provide them with screenshots, and it often takes days to get a response and sometimes multiple emails to get a response.
The frustrating thing is I like Attack and use it as my main drum synth. I just wish it came from a better run company. It sometimes amazes me they stay in business, you would think they learned something after the first time they went under but maybe not.

At the U-He forum you mentioned using a Suface Pro 3. Did the problems mentioned happen there or on a different computer?DodgingRain wrote:Unfortunately I'd have to agree that their support is bad. While the specs mostly look like a usual notebook a Surface Pro 3 is a quite unusual device for using latest music software and you'll not find many or any people that are currently able testing the Waldorf plugins on it. This means taht if there are issues related to using this device it will be diffiicult to replicate it.
Could you please explain if there are remaining problems for you and on which system those happened (OS, Host, Plugin format)?

Surface Pro 3 is just a different shape of a laptop, so it's not really any different - the OS is exactly the same that might be on a laptop (Windows 8, that is).
