...in addition, Animator (in Fusor) can modulate effects in some very cool ways. I wonder how many people actually use it in this way...

I never really did. I tried fusor a few times, but often forgot it was even an option. I didn't spend a lot of time with it tbh, I vaguely remember not finding it hugely intuitive and sticking to just the synths. I think it was the seperateness that really stopped the use of it... built in fx are much more convenient...and to layer two synths I prefer duplication of the midi track... perhaps it was a bit more than people rrequired...himalaya wrote:...in addition, Animator (in Fusor) can modulate effects in some very cool ways. If Fusor would be multy core CPU support then it would solw alot of problems.Ameyah Audio wrote:Fusor was always a cpu hog for me, so i never looked deeper into it. should i?himalaya wrote:...in addition, Animator (in Fusor) can modulate effects in some very cool ways. Built-in fx would be more interesting if you could move them within the signal path._leras wrote:depends on your DAW and if you can setup strips easily with macro controls for fx.electro wrote: Softsynths don't really need FX when you have them available via DAW.
Personally I think a set of fx on a synth are really really useful. Makes it quicker to be creative. If you have better quality fx then all good, but I prefer to swap them out when mixing, not when creating.

Built-in fx would be even even more interesting, to me, if they were also available as a separate plugin which could load and save programs of the same format. Maybe a simple copy/paste button?

I am going to buy this in a heartbeat. The first Synth Squad was one of the few synths I regretted selling. Just mentioning the animator now reminds me how little I "got" this synth when it first came out. I think I spent too much time trying to get Strobe to make fat basses when, upon reflection, I think Amber and Cypher are more interesting synths....
Hopefully a special price for "former synth squad owners" (j/k)

The GUI is great but the sound-demo of OP is simply mindblowing!

You should!Ameyah Audio wrote: Fusor was always a cpu hog for me, so i never looked deeper into it. should i?
I like it a lot anyway. Here's an example of Animator drastically transforming a sound. First dry, then with those effects, and then with added drum beat (Tremor):

(I've run out of space on my server, so this is my first plugin demo SoundCloud upload, ha!).

Angus_FX wrote:Release date? Looking at early spring at the earliest - if nothing else because there is Christmas and NAMM between now and then. It's running fast & stable (say the QA team!) and most features are in, but still a considerable amount to do - you've all seen by now how long a product can exist in a "nearly-finished-one-more-thing-to-go" kind of state
