Any softsynth coded in C# or C++ must have downward pitch correction (C# by a semitone, C++ by a whole tone). If the frequency of your computer isn't evenly dividable by pitch standard these synths will be slightly off pitch.

If you stand exactly two body lengths from an audio source at a 33.3-degree angle counterclockwise from the source and squint your eyes just right, you can actually see the audio waves. This trick is most effective in a busy work environment. Seriously, try it.
