I just will drink a bottle of Wodka and push the upload button when I can see it twicewagtunes wrote:Upload phobia. Eh, screw it. What's the worst that can happen? Somebody says it sucks? Concerning the age: Hm, I would call myself an old woman (although I feel like a child)And yes you are also right in what you said about becoming older. Carpe Diem

@bjporter: Thanks for the info. Okay then I will use the Soundcloud account I already have.

It`s not exactly that I fear negative feedback, because I know that not everyone can like my music alone because everybody has his/her own taste and so it is not personal if someone don`t like it.bjporter wrote: Also, someone somewhere hates your music. There's always somebody, so just try and make stuff you like, and practice / read up on tips, etc.

It was fun to work on the piece. My feet still tap uncontrollably when I listen to it
Well, I love it, but a second song would also be intresting of coursesfiks wrote: I haven't decided to submit it to the contest - still will be working on another piece.
Yeah, it`s fun. It`s just a pity that my offtime is rare this month.sfiks wrote: What I love about this contest is that it pushes your creativity to start working. Listening to what others composed using the same tools is fun and and a great lesson also.

70s? Yeah, grew up in the 60s and 70s so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.Mojo42 wrote: Man that`s wildI think it`s great
We have real 70`s revival in this contest I hope I will not get defaulted for the case that I make something "modern"
Hehe ... I was 10 years BEFORE you and still have fun putting up tunes to surprise and "entertain" people here. Of course, I can and have sometimes really surprised folk by doing a more modern "OSC-friendly" track!wagtunes wrote:70s? No one ever accused me of being "modern".
Yeah! But once you get your head around what restrictions the rules place on you, it's simply fun, and you can let those creative juices run wild.bjporter wrote:Totally OSC summed up in a few wordswagtunes wrote: It's real culture shock. LOL.![]()
You can use other freeware reverbs like TAL or Voxengo or whatever, but being "forced" to use Roomworks (as I had no freeware reverb in my folder) I was quite surprised to realize that I could make it work. Now I am no mixmeister and maybe a more experienced person could produce a much better result with the likes of Valhalla and whatnot, but I was quite content with the result (I even got a positive comment on my mix in OSC70, thank you very much solidtracksMojo42 wrote:wagtunes wrote:I'm using all the stock verbs and compression that came with Cubase. Does this mean that we have to? I mean: Are only internal effects allowed as Room Works Reverb by Cubase for example? If "yes" then culture shock is really the right expressionOh my god.
In the beginning, I sometimes want to compose a "modern track" with boom-tshak-boom-tshak or ambient style with swirling, jumping and buzzing sounds flapping thru my head....doctorbob wrote:

Fortunately for me, I'm much the same! Even my "excursions" into beepy, swishy, swirly paddy stuff still had leads, harmonies and rythmns, and even dissonance! - sigh ...photonic wrote:I know how you feelrockingricky wrote: ... Thanks for your answer, but I have got already free tools. The lack of an aggressive character compressor for drums in Cubase (I am on 6.5) might be something different but I solved it by not using drums
Take a quick read of the first quarter of this page here, and hopefully this will answer some of thatMojo42 wrote: I guess that would be all what I need. This song made in 4 days (or so) will be anyway a desaster but I see you all fear nothing and so I will join the suicidal mood
Hey there, I didn't mean to hassle youMojo42 wrote: One get ideas one would never have without this situation of borders and obstacles everywhere. I start to see the deeper sense in the OSC
The rules are simple: freeware effects and/or DAW effects only. Which means that you can't use a demo of a commercial plugin, or an effect you've got from CM/BE magazines - since those are not free, you technically pay (a few Euros) to get access to that "free" contentMojo42 wrote: What`s about a free version of HOFA IQ Reverb? May I use this? I tested it recently and it sounds really good. What`s about mastering tools? Can I use one of this: MHORSE P3, Tone2 Akustix, EZmixLite?
