In an effort to conserve space recently, I got the idea to go thru all my CM mags and remove the best bits and trash the rest. I made a mster book with categories for the articles to go in. This has saved a LOT of space on my bookshelf. I was thinking of scanning them to CD, but this may be overkill.

Any other good studio ideas, or even websites that provide this kind of info?

Seriously, the best studio tip ever, is; asssert your self. If you are recoring musicians, chances are they will be be widdling away while you try to set mics up/get recording levels etc.

A swift, 'shut the f**k you f**king c**ts, I'm doing this for your f**king benefit'

works wonders

I once had my studio-cat spill a container of liquid laundry soap into my Mackie 1604 mixer.

...which reminds me, does anyone want to buy a slightly used mixer? :D
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

a good tip is that...

in a bind you can usually use the fx return jack on most mixers to get another (basic) input into the mixer

unless of course you are using the fx return already

this one has saved my ass a couple of times
