Have you ever paid money for a plugin made in SE?

Yes and I'm very happy about it!

Yes but I would not do so again.

No, but there's no bias, I would at the right time/right plugin

No, and I would not. The SE label scares me off.

REQUEST

I just noticed that 2 people voted that they had bought SE creations, and will not do so again.

Care to speak up about this? It would be good to hear this point of view too, at least might get this thread back on topic anyway

cheers 8)

topaz's comment made about as much sense in this thread as no_signal's did

it's an elegant way of stating what could otherwise be said much more rudely, similar to my response only clever and funny as well as just elegant

;)

so its not some secret lost syd barret lyrics then? :(

hmmm, I don't know what makes you think that? :?: :-o

Good to see this thread has degenerated into proper uselesness..

Without fanning the flames, I would like to raise attention to the ONE common thing that I experience almost across the board with SE stuff & that's poor animation of sliders/knobs. It's not every single instrument, but it's so common, I almost dread opening a new one for fear of having it ruin my experience.

So far, I have not seen this problem on creations from Ugo, Odo, Tim & Co, EVM, & most other high rollers, but it's almost l;ike a plague with most of them.

So what causes that? Is it not enough frames in the slider or somethin? I dunno jack shite about GUI design..but I respect how difficult it must be being a designer myself.

Comments from the devs?

I find I get some sort of inner ear imbalance and fall over when one of things doesn't degenerate properly.

Do you have an example of this to point to, as I'm not quite sure what you mean?

You shouldn't see it with sliders since it's just a single frame moving about, no animation required. With knobs, it could be a number of things: not enough frames, poorly rendered graphics, fluorescent light flickering overhead...

fluorescent lights in a studio?

I'm thinking it's a framerate thing, a recent example is that big ass EQ that guy posted this afternoon, I'll need to hunt for the link, as I'm working on a best seller at the moment..

What's with the flourescent thing? You wouldn't be trying to insult my intellegence, would you?

Just curious..

I'm in a condo, but no fuorescent lights when my guitar is plugged in, or I gots an open mic. Also dimmers are bad news...my "cool"... 8) ...studio lights are on a vari-arc that is old, use to be my dads. But it works, I have an old voltage meter attached to it, one of those big old black ones from like the 40's. It looks quite cool.

ok, this one does it; the knobs don't turn freely, I have to keep click-stop-click stop to get it to where I want it. Exact positioning this was is almost impossible. This is a knob example (sorry, dev guy, it's not just you).

Here's a slider example:

More or less the same behavior.

I don't use flourescent lights by the way, & I'm on a 3.2 ghz machine, so it's not a retarded processor thing I'd imagine, & this behavior is almost exclusively limited to SE plugs. I'd have to rack my brain to find a non SE that did this.
