Hi, firstly just to explain I am a complete novice and really posting for my son.
My son used Mulab free briefly before we decided to download an XT user key.
He has been using it for a time now and works with it quite well. We have always noticed though that the intermittent soft noise is still appearing on everything. But have been pretty ignorant of it.
Have noticed when he opens it from the desktop shortcut it opens mulab3 free!
Has he been using this all the time without realising?
How can we now download the mulab 5 and will the key still work?
Can anybody help?

Hi,
Appreciate your help back in Feb, things seem to work ok for a while. My son is still using it but he says that after half a dozen times of using it the soft noise is appearing again on everything he seems to do.
Do we need to reload version 5 again?

As you're using M5 XT there are still limits:
Num Audio Inputs/Outputs=2/2
Num MIDI Inputs/Outputs=1/1
Num Tracks Per Composition=8
Can Use Multi MIDI Channels Per Track=No
Num VST Plug-Ins Per Session=16
Can Use ReWire Devices=No
Can Mixdown In 32 bit =No
You can cross these limits but then MuLab switches in demo mode and the soft noise appears.
So maybe your son uses more than 8 tracks, otherwise he crosses another of above limits.
Please consider upgrading to MuLab 6. No such limits in MuLab 6 and a lot of improvements and new features compared to M5 XT, and the upgrade only is 25 euro !! See http://www.mutools.com/shop.html
