RIP, what did he die of?
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

This really is sad news... I have to admit I cried after reading this:(
I used to see Steve a lot around Covent Garden in the late seventies... he always looked great and so full of life. It was Visage who really got me into electronic music and Fade To Grey Is still one of my favorite songs.
RIP Steve... gone much too soon. You will be missed:(

Heart attack (follow the Beeb link in the first post)

55 is certainly young, but he sure did a lot of living in those 55 years :)

He was my first real musical hero.

He was the reason for me to become a musician.

RIP Steve!!! Thank you for all the inspiration you gave. Thank you for changing the culture in the very early 80´s.

You never fade to gray...

I managed to get hold of the tape version of the Fade to Grey singles collection (which came with added club mixes) back in '86

Obviously one of the best compilations of all time, but one track in particular blew the fuses in my young mind: The Anvil - That sharp as steel bass arp, those colder than midnight on a moonless night vocals, the soaring synth solo

Probably the sexiest song of all times... RIP Steve... :-(

Being in the US, I only knew him from Fade to Grey (brilliant song!). Reading his bio now, I had no idea how influential he was and how he gave so many of my favorite bands from the 80s their first break. What a sad loss at such an early age.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Oh that's so sad. I hadn't heard of anything of him since the 80s, but it sounds like he still had a lot going on in his life

Far too young
Sweet child in time...
