The only thing I don't love about it is the goofy pickup setup. It's got this "s-1 thing that is nearly useless and is an extra set of wires to go wrong (and they do) and the assembly is cheap. The guitar is a joy.

Always go with a used guitar. More bang for the buck. Or why not two, while you're at it!

I got an EBMM Axis used guitar for $910 that is going to every second gig nowadays.

Those are good guitars. Would love pics!

I like my strat, but need to modify it. It sounds ok, but it's a tad noisy (nothing else I own makes any noise) and I'd like something hotter.

So here is what the guitar looks like now........random pic off the net.

And this is what I just ordered...

I think it's gonna look great :hyper:
Nice!
On a white Strat ... could be a "modern" version of Jack E Lee`s guitar :D
It`s not a bug... it`s a feature!

Crud ola.

I discovered a screw loose on the locking nut of the ibby :x

I hate having to keep the strings off of it, but had to put filler in

I would love a working S1 on my modern player telecaster. I can't get the classic middle position telecaster sound. If not I'd rather have the Brent Mason solution of a three way for the outer two and a separate volume for the middle one.

To my ears, it sounds muddy, fuzzy and completely unmusical. Maybe it's the style I play.

I had a tele once with the S1 switching and it seemed more useful.

Forgive me if I've said this too many times before but my favorite is the standard 5-way with a blend knob on the neck and bridge pickups. Only for hum canceling pickups.

I'd love to try the Scott Henderson thing of having the 2 and 4 positions bypass the tone control so he can instantly switch to bright rhythm sounds.

No worries I'm sure I'm about to repeat myself. The modern player is a three pickup standard 5 way with a humbucker in the bridge. I love out of phase tele tone as well as strat tone but it really doesn't happen with this thing.

Even though the middle pickup blows the other two away I'd love to have the jimmie vaughan tone bypass on the middle pickup... A Brent Mason volume bleed for the middle pickup and a simple S1 that functions only to put the bridge pup "always on" It would also be nice if the bridge pickup (because it's a humbucker) to have a SD triple play

Re Scott Henderson. wouldn't a no load tone pot do the same thing?

Interesting..........they have the reindeer blue/rosewood FB E-II I was interested at Sam Ash for 300 bucks off. Waiting for the confirmation that it's new (I don't want a floor model)

EDIT: Ordered  45 day return policy (you know those are very important to me :hihi: ) and if it's not new, then it goes back :D

I was a little bummed that my "evil plot to take over the world" was not going quite as I'd planned, but I'm back on track :hyper:

It bypasses the tone pots completely on the 2 and 4 positions. He sets his tone controls so that positions 1, 3, and 5 are darker sounding and less harsh with distortion, then he can instantly switch to brighter sounds on 2 and 4 without having to change any of his knobs.

Something even cooler might be to add resistors on 2 and 4 so they're also less volume.

Hey guitarists 8D
Here is an ESP custom I just got for lending some cash to a friend.
He thinks it is a Hetfield, from before they released the Snake Bite->Image

Do yous think it is?
I put a nut on the jack(and soldered the connection) and did the action so far-
I'll set intonation tomorrow prolly.
The fretboard is rosewood.
Does anyone know if these are neck-throughs,
or is it a regular set-neck?
I like it heaps and am thinking of putting it in my quiver permanently.
Keep rocking!

Oh yeah, the tone pot seems not to do anything-
I'll need to fix that or pay someone to do it.
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

I think you have missed the tell tail sign in your images. The back of the body where the neck joins the body.
