if you ever patch stuff through bypassed fx's
a lot of units that claim to be 'true bypass' simply aren't unfortunately. use a multimeter on analog devices or an fft analyser on digital stuff and figure out if it really is TB or not. if it isn't (you might be surprised with some stuff that isn't really TB), get your analog devices rewired with real TB switching, or replace them, or never send signal through them when they are in bypass mode.
I've seen bypassed devices adding noise to a signal when the controls of a DIFFERENT device were manipulated. Be careful...

Best studiotips?
If you dont have that much inspiration...
Play a game!
I recomend Far Cry. It makes your head look like this:
and your heart like this:
.
This was a "DON'T"
A "DO" on the other hand is to work out. Everything is so much clearer afterwards, it's pure again

if you're wiring alot of shit and something doesnt work right, don't panic and resort to caveman logic.
examples would be "is this plugged in?" "is the vol knob up on everything?" etc.
then panic

Studio trick?
Just a litle trick I use for those without $2,000 mixing desks. I do not have outboard Fx, so I never use the Fx send on the mixer for what it was meant to be.
I use a small Eurorack MX602A for recording and use the Fx send for an extra headphone monitor. The usual headphone monitor send levels depends on the main mix level settings, so with the Fx send I can set headphone mix levels different, e.g. usually I want the click track or the drums a little louder and the track I'm recording a lot softer, but surely do not want to record the click track.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
