I think they stopped sales of Alchemy 1 so they don't need to do free upgrades to users who purchase in the last (next 6 months). Then release alchemy 2.
Pigments Presets, Omnisphere Expansions, Dune, Serum, and Thorn Sound Packs. Diva, Zebra, TAL, and Repro Sound Banks.

Also, they still seem to be an active company. They only say they are not selling it at the moment. There were (are) employees that have all kept quiet. If the company stopped trading then these people would be talking about it.
No, They have not gone for good. They are doing something. I bet.

C'maaan... I know this is the 313th page of rehashing, but seriously:faun2500 wrote:Also, they still seem to be an active company. They only say they are not selling it at the moment. If the CA guys (or the current owner of their Intellectual Property) have let things go on like THIS for all this time without so much as another *peep*, and then at some point come back with Alchemy 2 with upgrade pricing for owners of Alchemy, then it's safe to say that it would *have* to be the biggest king hell B$%TCH of a customer relations clusterf%&ck that most of us have ever witnessed.... EVER. And the Camel guys just don't seem like that type of thing has really been they're style.
So I'll keep my Alchemy license because like it, I use it, and I DON'T rely on it for professional purposes, and NOT so I can have a 'pompous laugh' at people who have some strange reason to think their software will suddenly stop being supported just because the company they bought the license from has told them to back-up the sh&%t out of their software because they will suddenly stop supporting it.
If I were a numbers guy I'd probably set the betting odds at 25:1 that Alchemy 2 never comes out in a form where owning Camel Audio products will give you upgrade pricing. Throw in that they will also allow you to use your Camel Credits for the upgrade and I'd set the betting line at 50:1.
...dude.

I think it's safe to say that CA is dead. They've gone quietly into the night and they're not going to come back. There will be no Alchemy 2.
I still can't believe it's gone down this way, but it has.
Stranger things have happened.

For sure though I am curious as to what Alchemy 2 looked like, and what it's core feature set was and so on.
Maybe through the mists of time when Alchemy is long gone and any NDA's are essentially worthless someone will share the odd screenshot or two from the beta versions that were in the hands of some of the sound designers.

Apparently Spectrasonics weren't the first ones to attempt to sample the stalactites in a radioactive cave.
Some of the Camel crew attempted to do this too, but the trek was too dangerous and they perished in the caves.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
