Do you think they'd mistake it with a cereal? :hihi:
No, I was wonderinf if they might think it isn't a serious DAW, with a name like that. But personally, I think it's just a case of snobbishness. The "we don't use that one" syndrome. It might also help FL Studio's image if they got rid of the drum sequencer interface.

I should add that I think FL Studio is one of the best-featured DAWs there is, and comes with some excellent synths and effects, and I'd be using it if I didn't find Live a lot more intuitive. But every time I mention FL Studio in any store selling instruments, DAWs, and the like, faces freeze and people swear they've never heard of it.

The only desperation here is yours. The fact that they know their target market and you dont is a simple fact, no matter how childishly you react to having that pointed out to you.
Do you think it's acceptable that they didn't even allow readers to vote for FL Studio on their annual poll? You could vote for many other less popular DAWs, but not FL Studio... Why?
I dont give a f**k either way. Tools are for using, not for entering in popularity contests.
So you're suggesting that most of the people who use loops are NOT making dance music?
No, Im pretty sure Im not suggesting anything about what people who are not Sound On Sound's target audience do with loops, what a silly suggestion.
So you're also suggesting that most of the loop packs you can buy are NOT dance oriented, and specifically aimed at people who make dance music?
Im pretty sure I didnt mention anything about loop packs you can buy, so quite frankly that's an even sillier suggestion.
You're really not providing compelling evidence of being able to manage that 'rational argument' thing you were talking about, are you? I mean the hysterical repetition alone is concerning; its like watching a five year old screaming at his mum because the other boys dont like his favourite Pokemon as much as he does.

I really dont think you're grasping how important it is that one's emotional investment in one's preferences is properly validated on a public platform. Its like the incredible social and cultural importance of Kanye's 'Imma let you finish but' completely passed you by or something.

LOL...
It's quite apparent that somebody at SOS doesn't like FL Studio, and doesn't want people to use it/talk about it. Hence nobody was even allowed to vote for it. As I said above; "You could vote for many other les popular DAWs, but not FL Studio"... and old whyterabbyt gets his panties in a bunch... "I don't give a f**k either way". Apparently you do, as you seem to be heavily invested in this thread, which I started, not you...

As for "Tools are for using, not for entering in popularity contests", what does that even mean? So have you started a thread protesting against every DAW or VST poll ever made, especially the one in SOS? LOL again...

My point still stands: SOS haven't reviewed FL Studio 11, yet they fill loads of pages every month with stuff that isn't anywhere near as popular as FL Studio... popular meaning 'lots of people use it', whyterabbyt, in case you don't understand that concept. Meaning that there's no point in a magazine talking about something that hardly anybody will ever use, to the exclusion of something that far more people will use - if they were allowed to hear about it.

I think you and the other 'white knights' here are getting defensive and quite frankly embarrassing (see the two previous posts), because you can't explain why FL Studio is for some reason 'forbidden' in SOS either...

Well, I never go to music stores, and always buy everything online, so I don't have to put up with stupidity like that. It's like when you try to discuss the merits of FL Studio's piano roll on here, and 'other DAW users' get all defensive, because they know their DAW's piano roll isn't anywhere near as good, and its developers are never going to bother trying to improve it.

There's no discussion possible when someone defines what is 'good' or 'better'.
'good' is inherently subjective and context-sensitive.

Invested. Uhuh. That's precious. Desperate projection, but precious.

Imagine that you're being patted on the head right about now, m'kay. :hihi:

which bit of me saying I dont care about polls leads you to this belief that i care about polls?

here's a tip, kiddo. if that's all the thinking you can manage, best not to do it out loud. :tu:

So presumably this forum should be shut down then?
So nobody should ever discuss the interface of a computer program, and suggest that one way of doing things is better or easier than another?

There's a difference between stating a personal opinion and claiming a universal truth.
