You've had a rough Friday night out on the prowl, the weather is on the turn... So what better way to spend your Saturday morning than curl up on a pillow and doze off listening to Bastien weebling away at some ambient nonsense?

wow this is excellent bastien!!! :-o

Great sounds and sound quality!
Especially love the kick sound and the sub-rumble hubbub.`
I actually had to pause the mp3 to see if that sub-stuff was coming from my monitors or outside!! :-o

Where did you get the kick sound...and can you tell me how you constructed this,in as much detail as you can, would be great?
What hosts and all too please...damn nice work! :)

yep, very nice work indeed! :)

at first 8:11 seems a bit long but nope, that's just fine.

Today is a cloudy wet day. nothing to do but having a beer and listening music. Your music fits my mood quiet well and seems to fit with my neighbor as well for he just came in to ask me what that good (and loud) music was.

I'm curious to hear about that metalic kick as well.Love that sound!

alright man, my cat is sound asleep right next to me.............this is a true test :D

as soon as the download gets done

hehe, as soon as the first bass hit came in, he woke up  he's staring at me looking pretty annoyed right now. okay, success!! he went back to sleep.

the tune was a bit long for me, but i loved all the cool sounds and mangling you did with them. almost a metallic/industrial, yet smooth feel. anyway, neat little tune.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! Glad people liked it, it was one of those quick tunes that just kind of happens, really. Here's some detail (not too much I hope) on what went into the track - first, a screen grab:

That pretty much says it all!

The three audio tracks were made by running various combinations of the other tracks through SIR with the Spectral Relativity impulses, and rendering them for the whole track length. Those impulses are really, really good - definitely a case of getting much more out than you put in! Trouble is that I can't remember precisely which ones were used, I should have saved them into separate edits really but, erm, forgot to

The sub-bass rumbling stuff is the Oddity, just four notes descending. However once the SIR stuff was put back in, it became a bit too much so I removed the Oddity stuff where the SIR stuff is playing.

The kick is pretty much just the 808 preset kit in Waldorf Attack. The envelope is tweaked a bit, and there's a bit of F#-pitched tone from the second oscillator plus EQ and compression (which doesn't actually seem to be doing anything on closer inspection) and that's what you hear! Here's some more bits and bobs:

Cheers again!

Thanx so much for all the info bastien!

Had a listen to the spectral relativity demo IR`s.
A few of them sound very much like what i`ve heard from a few lexicon algo`s...but for $25,i`ll choose the spectral IR`s!hehe
Also..thanx for the samples, and your grab..very good of you to do that! :D

Luckily I have the sony IR and the voxengo...they will run all the spectral responses.

Very crafty audio work on your part...makes your piece as good as it is...no duplicating that!

Ooooooohhhhh this is good and just so vibrant. I've not worked with spectral impulses before and the little extra side info is rather cool (including the screen shot).

The little kitten here slept and slept and never was much bothered with the music. So something is done right :)

I like this darkish moody and temptive piece, and will be playing this more ;)
