To give this thread a little more substance, have you guys seen this article on the CA acquisition: https://bgr.com/2015/02/24/apple-acquis ... mel-audio/

Their interpretation is pretty good :hihi:

It has always been about dominance of the music sector. 17 acquisitions in a year?

Soon we may need to migrate to ... to...them!!!!

Soon they will take over Ze veldt!!!!!! :o :scared:

 From the article:
It’s possible that Camel Audio’s products will be folded into those existing products or perhaps into iTunes as well.

really? they seem to have no clue what Alchemy is, or how its relevant.

"the company had previously built the Alchemy software suite, which allowed musicians to produce their tracks digitally"

To paraphrase Lloyd Bridges in Airplane, "looks like I picked the right week for considering switching to a Mac".

I think it's an incredibly smart move by Apple.........if they keep going.

I think it would take surprisingly few acquisitions to get thousands of people to switch to a Mac.........if they were the right acquisitions, obviously.

I think almost any 3-4 from this list, on top of Camel Audio, would do the trick: Valhalla, u-he, D16, Audio Damage, Sugar Bytes, Cytomic, Sound Toys, Ohm Force, FXpansion, XLN Audio............

Only one of these companies being bought by Apple wouldn't be that big of a deal, but 3-4, on top of Camel Audio, would have a "baptism scene at the end of "The Godfather"" vibe to it.

Then again, people might just say "screw it!" and just stay where they're at, The G.A.S. Manifesto be damned.

Luckily, I'm probably switching to a Mac, anyway (I'm very interested in the UAD Apollo system, and I really, really want to use Sinevibes' plugs).

Apple bought Camel for the same reasons the filthy rich sometimes light their cigars with hundred dollar bills.
