ESX-8MD mk2

Hi - looking for the absolute lowest latency midi interface for OSX for a Max/MSP application. Would the ESX-8MD mk2 in conjunction with your spdif card - offer better performance than a traditional USB midi interface? Stability wise, I'm sure it would, but wondering about latency.

The latency would be exactly the same as the audio latency in the system, so would depend on your drivers, buffer size settings etc.
