I am not sure I understand your question. Can you describe the situation?
If you use a MIDI instrument (which means notes sent to a MIDI output) 'General MIDI' will insert program change, except when you select the 'No Program Change' preset.

I learnt that the Windows installer should not make changes to the user directories, especially if the installer needs to run with administrator rights.
From now data files will not be installed into the AppData\RapidComposer directory, but they will be placed into Program Files\RapidComposer\Data and when RC first runs, it will copy the data files into the proper AppData\RapidComposer directory.

The 'Installation' chapter is updated in the wiki to reflect this change: http://www.musicdevelopments.com/wiki

I don't know if this will improve the stability for Richard and Graeme who have lots of crashes, I hope it will.

An update is available immediately, although it is just a beta version (sorry, only for Windows at the moment).

Improvements:

Faster application startup: custom phrases are loaded asynchronously
Sending and receiving MIDI Start/Stop/Continue and Song Position Pointer can be enabled separately
[Windows] Installation from Windows standard user account fixed.

Hi Attila!
In my Mac versions RC have a problem ...
I chose the absolute phrase and in phrase inspector trying to convert to a relation form with check "Replace Master track chords": Immediate crash !!!!
Checked on different systems and computers!

unfortunately I could not recreate the crash. Can you send me an e-mail with either the crash dump, or the steps that lead to the crash? Maybe it happens with a specific phrase only, because I have tried several.

You're right - the problem may be in the phrase, and the problem for some reason in the whole composition ... I will try to understand what the problem is!

Using the beta 2.91b1 (Windows 64bit) I'm seeing some problems with previews. Like multiple previews would play at once and not stop when hitting escape. Seems like in 2.91 previews are playing all the time when working with things in timeline, so much so I've started having to hit P to turn them off. Which I didn't have to do before.

I've narrowed down one crash to exact steps though:

Start RC. Open the Progressions panel. Scroll down to
I - bIII7 - IV - bIII7
Right click.
Click on the "A"
RC crashes.

Hello Attila and everybody!

I've just got a crash... simply by making several clicks to much close each others on the button "Regenerate" in the Phrase Inspector.

It hasn't done any annoying consequences for me, I was beginning to improve phrases on a song just saved a few seconds before, but I think it could have some for other users in other conditions.

So I suggest you to temporarily disable the button as long as the regeneration process is not finished and to make it back to available when the regeneration is finished. And of course wherever there is a regeneration in the inspectors.

Nota: it was of course with the last beta in date, the 2.9b1.

interesting! I will check what goes wrong.
I have been working on bug fixes in the last weeks.
A secret new feature (which is completed about 60%) will be delayed for a week or two due to the bug fixes. If all goes well, there will be an update during the weekend.

i extend the note lengths then imported to RC ...it worked .
