Thanks. Its my birthday this week and this gave me a smile.
Cheers, Squids!

I am sure that I speak not only for myself but also for many other sonic-reality users/customers when I say a big "Thanks" for all the superb sounds you gave us.

Keep on creating such good instruments/sounds. And keep on having the probably most user-centered orientation in the bizz I have seen so far.

We wish you good health and much, much success for all your projects in the future!

Best regards!

David

In Germany we say: "Hip, Hip, Hurraaa!" when somebody has birthday. :)

Hey thanks guys. I'm 36 now. Bummer. ;) I am still a kid... and a squid!

I appreciate the kind words. I did good on presents this year (because for once when asked I actually said something... usually I say I don't know). So, I got Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 1 & 2 and a whole Sushi Knife Set. My wife got me a professional massage but I am sure it is rated G then. ;) Just kidding.

Thanks.

Now back to Sonik Synth 2 and some I-Drumming!!!! ;)

:hihi: sorry squids

Exactly Scuzzphut. I am with ya.

Pricer, today isn't my actual Birthday. But I did work on my Birthday, I also work on holidays in general. I just like to work on sounds and music that's all. I feel like I am being productive which is better to me than watching television or bowling or whatever it is most people do. :D (Apart from Larry David and actually I like Bowling although I rarely do it... plus The Big Lebowski is one of the best films ever made on a certain level).

i'm with you on the Big Lebowski vote!

Happy belated birthday, Squids. I hope you had a great time. Of course, I greatly enjoy the work that you and your company does and wish you and Sonic Reality lots more birthdays.

As far as Curb Your Enthusiasm, I am a huge Seinfeld fan, and believe it or not, I only watched Curb Your Enthusiasm for the first time two weeks ago. My girlfriend and I rented the DVD of season one and ended up watching the entire first season in two days -- we loved it. I love the line about a Twilight Zone episode where there are no pillows.

eDrummist gets deep and shares wisdom :-o
As far as 36 goes, don't let it get to you (I'm 40). From being rock and rollers, I think we were seduced into the whole idea that it's uncool to age, when the truth is, you can end up having much more depth as a musician if you take in all of those experiences and influences. Look at all the jazz greats who played until the end. I have DVDs of greats like Count Basie, Miles Davis, Buddy Rich, Dave Brubeck... Of course, I'll ruin all of this by noting how few rockers actually age gracefully. Squids, I am certain that you can be an exception. There is a difference between shallow popsters churning out audio commerce and real artists.

Last, when I turn 50 and you get me the Gilbert stuff, you should also send some of your material. I'd be very interested. Of course, by then I don't think I'll be able to use the same DVD format they have today (I suppose they'll probably be like eight tracks by then). :)

I am not concerned about the age thing. I joke about it in a sort of cliche way on occassion. But, in my mind I don't age... only grow.

As to KG stuff, a friend of mine is putting the Lamb onto DVD for you (and me). The delay was that we were going to try to match up the DAT audio but we'll probably have to go with the audio that was with the video in the first place which is still not bad. It's not 5.1 (hey... wow, that would be cool! Too bad I don't have the original DA88 tapes!). But, it'll be cool to see (plus Squids with a big mop of hair behind a castle of keyboards playing really hard stuff).

Thanks.

Though the Coens are going down fast with Intolerable Cruelty and the Ladykillers.

I found Intolerable Cruelty tolerable. George has some good comedic chops. Oh Brother was better tho. Don't know about LadyKillers. You never know with them.

I am a fan of the Hudsucker Proxy but it is hit and miss with people. You have to be able to appreciate the parody of Capra films meets the Jerk for that one. Tim Robbins is great in it.

But the Big Lebowski is strange. I actually didn't like it the first time I saw it for some reason. But it grows on you and now I know most of the lines. Great for quoting...

"Darkness warshed over the Dude like steer's tucas on a moonless prairie night"

"You want a toe? I can get you a toe. F***in amateurs."

"Donny, you're out of your element."

This has to be John Goodman's best role ever.
