Who has successfully done it and how do I go about doing this?
Fully aware it voids return-ability and what not,
No I dont want a MIDI host box, no I dont want a separate MIDI controller. I want the microbrute to have MIDI out to double as both a controller and operate as it does simultaneously. Should be doable, I just need to know where Im making connections and if anyone else has opened up the hood of the MB
Thanks!

I thought the Minibrute has MIDI out over USB?gavinneves wrote:I want the microbrute to have MIDI out to double as both a controller and operate as it does simultaneously. Should be doable, I just need to know where Im making connections
But if not, then as far as I know, its primarily an analog, CV based, device. You're at minimum talking about intercepting the keyboard matrix somehow, translation of that into note data, and handing serial comms, the latter two steps of which will require custom programming of an embedded controller of some kind. Hardly a question of 'just making connections'.
To my mind, if you had the electronics background required for the task, I dont think you'd need to ask. You'd maybe also be at MuffWiggler's site instead of here, though over there they seem to have (sensibly, IMO) restricted themselves to hacking the analog capabilities.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."
