Guitarist looking for a new direction

I have been playing guitar for many years and would count myself roughly in the top ten percent of players you would see down at the local saloon (pretty good, but not stellar). I want to get to the next level, which for me means being able to play jazz -- specifically I want to become more comfortable sightreading the fake book. I would also like to learn to read better. I live in an enchanted forest in a far off land, so I cannot get a teacher. We have an internet connection here, though. I want to get into an entirely new practice regimen. Any ideas about some online learning or other DIY method of teaching myself?

I like jamplay, but I'm just starting becoming reacquainted with the guitar after years of playing power chords and funk rythhm patterns.
