Plug-in to make R gain 'follow' L?

Hi all,
Simple and self explanatory title (to lure people in) :)

The closest thing I found was TopazDynafilter though really it's a filter and not automatic gain/level control.

Any suggestions appreciated.

This one does what you want in principle I think.

Though it works with two separate inputes instead of doing L -> R.
But maybe you can get there with some trickery routing, I dunno.

Ah, ye
I remember trying this but could not get it to work in stereo channel like you say...
It's actually to experiment with Mid Side encoding - Getting Side Gain to follow/match mid gain - if you see. :scared:

But this should be relatively easy to do with above plugin I think (didn't test).

Make two tracks with identical audio, use Voxengo MSED in inline mode to mute M on one track, mute S on the other.

Route the M only track to the first input, route the S track to the second input.
I doubt that this gives much musically usable result though but whatever :D

Ha, thanks for the reply.
I eventually found this, though it's more of a limiter:

Ideally I would have liked side level to match relative mid level exactly, but this more or less does that.
Naturally, this 'widens' stereo.

Note the lateral/vertical mode outputs just that - its doesn't re-encode into stereo - the manual doesn't state this!

Using LAT/VERT in conjunction with the dual-mono modulator and/or harmonizer plugs (see below) placed after FC70 emulates vinyl quite well.

- Dual mono modulator/flange: http://www.g-sonique.com/midsidecreativ ... ilter.html
- Dual mono harmonic generator: http://www.g-sonique.com/midsideharmonicvitaliser.html
- Vinyl warp modulation: http://www.toneprojects.com/products/pl ... -stx-1260/

Delaying the side channel relative to mid, induces comb filtering.
Modulating this delay gives a nicer effect (modulated comb filtering).
Harmonic generator adds sparkle.

To know underlying principle/physics involved here, see: vinyl pinch distortion. ;)

Off Topic: I think modulated comb filtering is same thing as CIC filtering, CIC commonly used in earlier ADC's, used to 'feather' the signal via IIR before decimation to final rate via FIR.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
