Oh, but it is a big difference: in draft mode I can run 8 instances before running out of CPU; in best mode, 1 instance kills it. I guess you need an ancient PC (like mine) to see the difference, hehz.prime wrote:Unfortunately, I tried the draft/good/best modes and see no difference in CPU usage...

Try changing the "release" value in ADSR envelope 1 to a high number on some of the presets. I had an awesome chord preset made that was playing 16th-note chords with 4 notes each, and unbeknownst to be the "release" was set to 20 seconds. So at any given time hundreds of notes were still decaying near-silently. One instance of the chords in "Good" mode used so much CPU on my Mac that Ableton started playing the track at half speed, something I've never seen before even with 30+ tracks.
Changing it to "draft" and taming that release value made it sound the same and use 14% CPU instead of 80%.
The surprising thing to me about the draft/good/best modes is how different the sounds are -- on most synths I have to listen with headphones to notice the tiny quality difference, but in SM they sound distinctly different. Luckily I like the "draft" mode better almost every time.
One more CPU tip: The "Analog" filter mode uses way more CPU than the "Digital" mode. They're apparently working on improving that for SM 2.7.

Hello
Are we allowed to post our osc#73 tracks to the KV331 Audio user demo thread?
e.g this one :
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 8&t=166208
Not sure how many times the KV331 crew check it though.
thanks

Found another preset in the player (full player) that uses a sample:

I cant check right now but is there a sub folder that all the samples for any presets are kept, could just either temporarily move or rename that folder then if you find any preset not working its probably because it uses samples and can be avoided without further checking.
Just a thought

Good news everyone (using the free or paid SM Player), our official OSC bank is now ready!
Download link is here:
http://www.synthmaster.com/downloadfile.aspx?fileId=95
You can find your serial # in the SynthMasterPlayerLicenseKey.txt ... just drop the files into your "SynthMaster Player\Presets" folder. If you have trouble, let me know and I'll help you get it installed.
That's 192 new presets for everyone who uses Player!! Hope it helps
Big thanks to the community for contributing, and big thanks to Bulent at KV331 for encoding the bank for us.
If you own the full version I recommend using this link instead since I'll keep it updated with the latest presets:

Could you please check to see if BA Dubstep 1 is trying to pull up an SFZ file? It keeps blowing up my Cubase when I try to access it and I've never had that problem with any SM preset before.SoundGoddess wrote:Good news everyone (using the free or paid SM Player), our official OSC bank is now ready!

It's either one of two things.
1) it's accessing an SFZ that I don't have
2) It was created either with an older or newer version of SM than I have.
In either case, I'm going to have to delete the folder as I can't use it as is until whatever the problem is is fixed.

It's working fine on my end...it doesn't access an SFZ, it uses AM Complex NS 008 which appears to be a factory waveform. Are you running an older version of SM? I'm using 2.6.21.Could you please check to see if BA Dubstep 1 is trying to pull up an SFZ file? You could try installing the encoded bank and see if that particular preset works.

I'm running 2.6.4. That could be the problem. I'm not going to mess with it, especially since I've submitted my entry already and probably won't use the bank anyway.SoundGoddess wrote:It's working fine on my end...it doesn't access an SFZ, it uses AM Complex NS 008 which appears to be a factory waveform. Yeah that's most likely the issue...that version is pretty ancient, when I bought SM in Nov 2013 it was already at 2.6.12. Any reason you're avoiding upgrading to the latest version?

I don't know. I just never thought about it. It was fine the way it was. I wouldn't even know how to upgrade anyway.SoundGoddess wrote:Yeah that's most likely the issue...that version is pretty ancient, when I bought SM in Nov 2013 it was already at 2.6.12. Well, I knew I shouldn't have installed the update. I'm getting license key has invalid values and now my Synthmaster isn't showing up in Cubase at all.
Figures.

Might have to delete your KV331 Audio and SynthMaster folders (back up any custom presets first) and do a clean install of 2.6.21. Sorry the update broke
