im with sickle on thissickle666 wrote:I seriously doubt the Developer is gonna nail you full price per copy, especially for educational purposes. He has a company support forum here.
It's worth your time to post your inquiry in his forum area or private message him.
If he is a forward thinker, he'll consider all the soon-to-be VST junkies!
PS: his name is Jules
see if some of the devs might cut you a deal
also energy just to open a new can of worms
but completely off topic ive been commissioned by my sons school to create 3 hours of music for a space project

I've never tried it but there's a sequencer called Computer Muzys (cutdown version of Muzys) with the magazine Computer music (£5). Don't know if you have to buy 25 magazines though.

CM magazine's cover CD also includes several free VST instruments. It typically has everything you need to create music!
Purchasing 25 copies wouldn't be the worst thing in the world as there are tutorials for several different programs - including FL Studio! Everything you need to run through the tutorials is on the cover CD - including free, shareware or demo versions of the particular software that is covered.

I forget now. What sequencer comes with Computer Music magazine?
It would also be nice if you could find an Acid type program. I learned that it is easy to teach arranging and dynamics in Acid.
Robert
Edit: oops. Two quick answers before I submitted the question about Computer Music magazine.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

I think the freebie Cubase and Sonar apps are still floating around.
Try Googling Steinberg Cubase Inwired or Cakewalk Plasma.

$80 actually buys two Tracktion licences.. so $80 * 12.5 would be more accurate. Pity the poor bastard using 0.5 of a PC though..DKeenum wrote:I'm afraid the school wouldn't even think of spending $80 X 25 computers. I wonder if the "soft hiss" would be too un-nerving?

Cubasis Inwired is what I was refering to earlier, I forgot the name. As far as I know, it has been taken down from the Steinberg site, but like I said, if you mention it & what you want to use it for, they may allow you to access the application.GaryG wrote:I think the freebie Cubase and Sonar apps are still floating around.

Good luck.
PS: The host Kriminal suggests looks better than all the ones the rest of us have suggested.
