Hey everyone,
Before the votes are revealed I thought I'd mention how I assigned my votes (just in case you're interested, and so that they're not misinterpreted). When I listened through I honestly thought that everyone deserved a 5. I could tell that a lot of care went into every track and all of them were really very good. But as others have said, if we vote 5 on every track then it's the same thing as not voting at all. So I tried to make use of the whole range from 1 to 5.
If I gave your track a 3 it means that it is an excellent, very high quality song. Most of these would sit comfortably alongside the professionally recorded music in my library. I reserved 4s and 5s for the ones I thought were over-the-top amazing. I tried to narrow it down to only one 5, to distinguish what I thought would be the winning track if it were up to me. But in the end there were two tracks that I couldn't decide between. They were both perfect in my opinion. If you got a 2, it was still great work but I may have noticed a few things I thought could make it better, different things for different songs. Next time if I use a system I might be able to be specific about why I chose 2 for some and 3 for others. I gave a 1 to only a few tracks -- these were overall good as far as sounds and mixing, but the missing element for me was musical direction. I would have liked to hear a bit more repetition of a melodic theme or some that unifies the song. This might just be personal preference. I tried to think beyond my own musical tastes, but I'm used to more traditional styles like rock and folk so it's hard to know if this is why I place such a high importance on the overall direction / composition of the song. As I learn more about electronic music I might be able to appreciate a broader range of styles.
Glad to see that many of us are able to participate in the March challenge.

Is today or yesterday the last day for voting? It says before the 16th. Does that include the 16th or is the 15th the last day?

I think it does not include the 16th. But due to the difference between your time zone and KVR time it is possible that you vote in the early hours of the 16th, as well.wagtunes wrote:Is today or yesterday the last day for voting? For the KVR time, see http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/index.php
The KVR time is just above the list of the topics.

Correct. Before the 16th, or in other words: the 15th, end of day. This is all based on KVR time (which may be US/Central, I've always been just a bit unclear on that). Assume if you voted at least by end of the day 15th whatever your local time is, there wouldn't be a problem.

Is "The last day to vote is the 15th" more clear?wagtunes wrote:Is today or yesterday the last day for voting? It says before the 16th. Does that include the 16th or is the 15th the last day?

That or something to the effect of: "votes must be in by end of the day on the 15th".bjporter wrote:Is "The last day to vote is the 15th" more clear?wagtunes wrote:Is today or yesterday the last day for voting? It says before the 16th. Does that include the 16th or is the 15th the last day?

I think it's pretty clear as it is. I can see that maybe someone might think you have to vote by the 15 (ie 14th as last day) but its pretty straightforward that it shouldn't be a problem imo.
