Attila, this is exactly what I have been looking for and makes the program so much easier to use and saves me so much time.

Well done!
I am very happy to hear that! Good news, really.

Is there a way to turn off preview by default? I always have play enabled and when I click on the phrase the playback is doubled (with a different timing, which is really an annoying sound always) and I remember I forgot to press P. But it's already too late and i am frustrated again. Please implement a setting to turn off preview by default, Attila! Thank you so much in advance!

Also, in the bass generator's note usage I would looove to have a "Use Bass Note+Seventh" option in the note usage window, as I am using seventh quite a lot in my (dark) basslines. :) Pleeease! :D
If we are talking about this already, I would als love a "Use Chord Notes+Seventh" option. And generally I am missing prime (+1 semitone) and +13 semitone intervals. Sorry, I'm about dark music. ;) And it is used a lot here. :hyper:

Soman,
On the main GUI (Composition page), just below the play button, you will find "Preview" drop down to select Enable/Disable and multiple ways for it to work if enabled. I keep mine disabled (Off) as it does tend to become distracting.

Hi Soman,

if you turn off preview, the setting is preserved if you quit and restart the program. You don't have to enable it if it is annoying...
Please let me know if I misunderstood your question, because obviously you know about pressing 'P' to enable and disable it...

Good point about the bass... The Bass Generator is very old, and needs a revamp.
Temporarily I added these options (you will find these in the next beta version in a few days):
Use Chord Notes+Seventh
Use Bass Note+Seventh
Use Bass Note+Seventh+Octave
Use Bass Note+Fifth+Seventh
Use Bass Note+Fifth+Seventh+Octave
In the rewritten Bass Generator these options have to be implemented as a multiple selection menu rather than the current awkward solution.

Thanks,
Attila

Great! I can't await the next beta! :)
I use the bass generator quite often for generating nice and driving basslines. So the seventh option is really missing atm. But not so much longer then. :)
I forgot to mention something concerning the preview. Lately I've been experimenting with the vst. However in the vst plugin it seems that the preview setting is not preserved. So, sorry that I did not mention that I was talking about the vst.

All the best, Michelle.

Hi Michelle!
However in the vst plugin it seems that the preview setting is not preserved.
Oops, I did not know that!

Thanks,

No problem. That's why I'm here. :hihi:

Regarding the bass generator, it would be helpful if one could specify a specific rhythm, as bass is very rhythm-heavy and often syncopated with the percussion (especially the kick drum). Or perhaps even a setting to "follow kick drum" if a percussion track is available.

Post

guitarmanchu, If you go to the rhythm generator in the bass generator, open the drop down menu and choose the first entry "Manual Editing" you can create a specific rhythm. Though the editor window for that could be a bit bigger... Especially when working with 8 bars. 8)

Quick reminder to everyone (this was a feature request for a long time).. the Harmonization function of RC is AWESOME. I honestly completely forgot about Attila mentioning this recently.

Please take a look at how powerful it is:

This program just keeps getting better and better.
