It landed on the wrong side :x

lol, I just thought it was funny you actually did that :hihi: Hope to hear you more often in the osc, you are great! Maybe for synthmaster? However you or the other person (no spoilers :hihi:) want to handle it, thats fine with me. Cheers

If I recall I had someone else provide the results, to make it more impartial, but yeah that was quite astonishing... the chance of a 100% tie is very rare.

Which, btw, reminds me: I'm actually waiting for some technology to mature that allows me to roll a die online, such that it is 100% provably random, and 100% provably not rigged, done on many thousands of computers, as not one server decides the result, and 100% public. That will be very cool. :wheee: It sounds science fiction, but it's quite possible.

Congrats to the winners. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with my own results. After the SM challenge is complete and voting is in this same time next month I'll decide whether it makes any sense for me to enter anymore of these. I obviously either have a very long way to go in synth programming (as if 36 years of this hasn't been enough time) or my taste in "music" is just way too far off from the "norm."

Anyway, all you folks who did really well, you deserved the kudos. These were some very impressive tracks.

I'm off to go learn what an oscillator, envelope and LFO do again.

I have apparently forgotten.

I'd argue that https://www.random.org/ is more than adequate for OSC purposes, but that 100% provable is very hard to achieve in general... heck, even if you make a site visit. Best bet might be to hit a service ~2^64 times (well, several large batches) and run the results through your favourite stats package. Stats don't lie...

I hope you keep at it in some form or other, even if not in OSC. Your track really was great even if it didn't fit with the "norm"

This being my first challenge, I found it interesting to see how wrong I was with my voting. My top 3 tracks ended up at #6, #9, and #16. I thought Oxebe's track was amazing, so I'm a bit shocked that it ended up at 16. I'm used to being outside the norm, so I'm not that worried about it. I think in my case it might be partly because I'm newer to electronic music, so I'm probably not hearing things that others hear. But I also firmly believe that the world needs more weird people, so I'm going to take what I've learned but also try to develop my own unique electronic style.

Congratulations everyone, and double-congrats to the winners. And thanks for making this such a positive and welcoming group. I've learned so much already.
