Yeah I can imagine. All my kit comes in carry on, along with the shirts, socks, jocks etc.xoxos wrote:good luck mate, it took one airport security pass and my edirol lost all but one key function.

Mine is equipped with a Neve console and Studer 48 track analog but I particularly like the exterior.

I have a borderline neurotic flying ritual. I wear sandals that slip on, no pocket change whatsoever, no belt, I empty most things out of my wallet and my phone is the only thing personal electronics that I take. I used to take my laptop, but it was my employer's. I take only one small carry on. If I need more clothes than that I buy them when I get there and ups them home before I leave. I truly hate flying since 9/11 and go to great lengths to avoid it.xoxos wrote:good luck mate, it took one airport security pass and my edirol lost all but one key function.

have you seen me? who the feck is gonna employ me?Mushy Mushy wrote:Ah ok, got it.whyterabbyt wrote:it kinda depends. are you talking about 'travelling for some other purpose, but wanting some toys with you' or 'travelling with the specific aim of doing audio work wherever you get'.Mushy Mushy wrote:Geez, you guys have GAS even on the road.
Are you not thinking of your poor backs while lugging all this around?
Or perhaps because it's hypothetical you're assuming you'll be supplied with a free chauffer and/or an Asimo
i was sorta responding from the latter position. because that in itself would be pretty hypothetical, really.
for the former, i could manage easily with just an ipad or a laptop.
I did mean the former. Primary purpose of work (ie, business work not audio).

no clue how exactly that occured, but no amount of mechanical maintenance affects it. i was thinking slim profile, portable.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

I move 2-3 times a year for work, so I live portable:
- Core i5 15.6in display laptop
- KMI QuNeus
- KMI Q-Board
- Tracktion 6
- About 9 VSTi and over 150 effects (!!)
- Sennheiser HD-280 cans
Fits into a corner of my large rolling suitcase, surrounded by my clothes for padding.
I'll be upgrading he laptop late this year to a 17 inch display Core i7.
