I just bought a new bass. It is a flavah of the month type thing: Marcus Miller Sire Bass. I swore I would never get caught up in another of those, but..... Seems like a great bass 'for the money.' I am just wondering when the shine will wear off them.

Taking an honest appraisal of what you have is a good start, followed by noting what you don't use and then making an objective list what you're actually lacking.

As much as I'd love to snap up every synth that's come up for sale in the market forum, I still have a few I've never really touched, and enough that I don't really "need" anything else right now.

My biggest needs have been with reverb (bought Toraverb, which I'm loving, and will buy VVV down the road), dynamics processing (Pro-C, looking for Pro-L, and will buy Pro-MB down the road), and modulation effects (most of the rest of the D16 Silverline Collection.)

Without sitting down and assessing where I'm at, I don't think I could have prioritized my purchases and been much more effective with them. Also, not demoing everything under the sun helps reduce the "OMG I NEED THIS PLUGIN" feeling. :D

All i know is that i already own 42 ONLY Compressors...so..and that does not include compressors
from Melda Bundle, from Cubase and few others.

That's the nice thing about Cubase 8, creating a folder for Cubase's included plugins so I never have to see them again (well, except for the two I actually use.)

I bought it too. Mainly because I have 7 and thousands of sounds for it. Also, I like supporting independent developers.

The thing I want most right now is the new Arturia 88-key controller. That is going to be my next significant purchase.

I might be speaking too soon, but I feel like I've got my GAS under control. My first instinct now is to try to talk myself out of a purchase, which I successfully do the vast majority of the time.

Like right now, BFD3 is on sale for 50% off. I've had my eye on it for a while, and I was going to jump on it, but I already own Addictive Drums 2 with just about every kit, drum, and MIDI pack for it, in addition to all the Abbey Road Drums/Drummers that come with K9U.

So I'm passing on BFD3.

But it's cool it went on sale, because now I won't gear-lust after it anymore. Sales are "put up or shut up" time, and I've already mentally moved on from BFD3.

Speaking of sales, I think some (most? damn near all?) companies are training their users to wait for them. I'm interested in just about every new piece of the K10U update (except maybe the new pianos) and I would have gladly paid full price for it if I knew they didn't have sales. But I know that, if history is any indicator, there will be a "50% off Komplete upgrades" sale, probably (hopefully) in the summer.

So I'm waiting and I'll save €200.

I'm waiting for it, too. Upgraded to K9U last time for $199 and it should be the same for K10U.
Another thread said we'd need to wait a year; summer sounds better..

I'm over GAS . . . as much as anyone else here
:=)

Everyone talks about how crazy-good EchoBoy is - which would end my need for any additional efx vst

instruments - really don't need anything else . . . perhaps one day I'll talk me-self into LIVE sampler

hardware - pretty contented here also with relatively new vocal channel strip and LDC mic that I've dialed in with the channel strip. Might upgrade the body of my telecaster with this : http://www.guitarfetish.com/XGP-Profess ... 13664.html - it's cheap enough but just not sure if the humbucker cut for the neck will fit my jazzmaster pickup . . .

And I use the "Sinewave test" for compressors, to eliminate the ones that produce too much aliasing, but I always do a soundcheck, too. The plugin could just sound right, despite the somewhat scientific tests... ;)
How do you use Budde's VST Analyzer? That's for effects only, right? Could you use it for synths?
Very interested in this.

Also stability tests would be great to have :)
