Nice - it seems that Izotope has actually listened to its users. I might have to upgrade from Ozone 5 after all.Sampleconstruct wrote:Release notes copied+pasted from my account:

Hmmm. I wonder how many things apply to the non-advanced version? I guess I could actually go look....maybe even download it....
Funny what spite will make you do (or not do). I've only opened v6 one time since I paid for the downgrade, then cursed for an hour. 5 is working fine. I'd have likely upgraded to Iris 2 if it weren't for the...well...the downgrade issue with my beloved Ozone...

Insuficient improvements in the update for me. I want my Gate back!! Ozone 5 Advanced gate is VERY flexible and hard to replace.
Izotope wants $300 for O6 Advanced upgrade from O5 Advanced, I spent my money for that upgrade elsewhere and got MANY HIGH-QUALITY PLUGINS. On the SonicCore SCOPE dsp platform I got the best multi-effector on the market Optimus Prime and also Tape Echo plugin bundled from dNa for about $120. On the SCOPE Platform I also got Celmo's Vocoder for about $60. On Native platform I bought Reflex+ and Reflex+ Pro wich are very nice multi-effectors from STW-Audio both for about $105. On the Native platform I bought Permut8 and Bitspeek from Sonic Charge wich are VERY unique multi-effects machines for about $85. All this was about $370 total and in my eyes was FAAAR more and beyond what Izotope was offering, so spending my upgrade money elsewhere was a no-brainer. The only downside is more plugins rather than just adding more modules to the all-in-one Ozone and other Izotope plugins i own at their upgrade time, wich I generally prefer to do since I don't care to have too many individual plugins (more to install and reinstall, more companies to deal with for sub par tech-support, more gui's etc for workflow, more bugs and DAW incompatibility, etc). I like to keep a small Native arsenal of plugins BUT i know i made the right choice. I will demo the new O6 update to see if algorithm improvements of significance are there and keep my eyes on Izotope to see if they return their business model to the more customer-friendly one that my demographic prefer and if so i'll be back, if not my money will continue to go elsewhere. ALOT can be bought with $300 nowadays the market climate has changed dramatically, especially for those of us who have 2 platforms to shop on.

T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

I had just bought Ozone 5 and RX3 Advanced. Within a few months they released RX4, but I couldn't get a free update. It would have been quite expensive and you lost your reverb also.
I wanted some of the features of Ozone 5 Advanced, but I wasn't going to buy Ozone 5 Advanced AND RX3 Advanced, since the big thing about Advanced is that you get some Insight meter bridge thing with graphics. It was ok, but you sure don't need two of them. Their solution was 'you buy it and then try to sell the extra one on our marketplace forum'.
I really like the product, though, sigh.

Wish I could get the 20% holiday upgrade savings again.. looks like they tweaked and added back a bunch of stuff that had been removed since 5.
Can you save and load EQ Matching curves in the standard version of 6.1? I heard it was something that was missing in 6. If that's working again, like it was back in 5.. then I may have to dig up some cash and go for the upgrade.

This is a very, very skimpy update. I think iZotope has run out of ideas with this one. I can buy some phenomenally innovative and well-designed plugins for much less than the cost of this upgrade.

Bummer.. that would have been my main reason for upgrading.SeeingInMidi wrote:still no support for saving snapshots of eq matches.

...and follow that with $99 in store credit to offset the cost off the v.6 "upgrade" for those of us who bought it. I'll give you $50 for an upgrade from Iris 1 to Iris 2 right now.highkoo wrote:Izzy!
If you guys want to scrape up some good will from the fractured userbase, I have an idea;
Take that slick new skin, slap it on a V5 update real quick, and give it away.
