Believe it or not, a good chunk of leads for the Sythilix album are either from Atmosphere or Absynth (only recently have they been replaced by refx Vanguard or with the Elektron Monomachine) so yes - Atmosphere can be used for leads too ;) :hyper:
Oh no! Sythilix is now dance music??? Why do I think it wouldn't be your first 'go to' synth for trance though? Not saying it can't, but there are other choices for that genre. ;)

:hyper: didn't you hear the new lyrics for nothing?

"Nothing left to hold on to,
ooh baby bay-beee
nothing left to lose
baby I need you
nothing left to save us now
uh huh oh yeaaaaaahhhh
nothing left to prove
Break it down - aw yeah"

seriously though, atmosphere is a very handy synth library to have for trance/dance, as it can handle any pad duties you may need, and used creatively it can really add some sparkle to minimal electro tracks. And tweak the sample start to get some interesting leads ;)

Where´s the kickdrum and carryovers??

It´s allright as a tune though...just lacks any kind of punch!

that was what I most appreciated in this song! there were certain very cliché & terrible chord progressions but these irregular rhythm changes were quite nice & original (drawing outside the lines the way you germandude!!!).

what put me off mainly is the production and the"lack of" "inspiring & refreshing effects". the sounds in itself sound quite alright but they could use some polishing still so they go shimmering & glowing. the sounds are more subtle than you usually find in trance & house and i like that. don't know if you were looking for that or this happened by accident. besides the cheecy chord progression from time to time it was a pretty good song which i do like & enjoy.
germandude wrote:I have a question. How is the sound quality and are there any instruments that sound too weak or too loud?
i had the feeling that the overall sound volume could be boosted a bit. maybe a bit of compression(?)

i really hope you can get to sound good cos your song germandude has potential!!!

ps. it's very german in sound! :D

Oh yes, I remember Golden Axe in the arcade, and it also came out for the Genesis I believe, and the Amiga as well. Which platform you referring to?
Well, I think the music was pretty much the same on any plattform... - I played it on PC mostly, though.

I'm referring to the first version with the green dwarf, the blue bodybuilder and the red girl to pick. :D

AUSTERE...i am glad you liked it...good feeback as well. You know, everything was really by design and also the irregular rythm changes. I guess not being a music pro, I think a bit backwards and try to create something that is not normal or goes against music rules. At times it sounds somewhat alright, at least to my un-trained musical ear.

I've got quite a few more songs, actually tons of them, but most of them have this '80s sound, cuz of the '80s Synths. Updating my instrument library may improve it. And lot's of practice will help as well and improve.

All of you are right, after seeing your comments and listening to the song again, there is no spark...something I need to work hard on...to make the song more interesting, so the audience doesn't get bored.

Thank you for your confidence...I'll keep trying and not give up. Being German, I guess I will never get rid of a German sounding song. :P ha ha ha.

BTW, I'll post a song called TranceX to this site shortly, it'll show some more interesting drums, but again, pretty much got the Synth1 going in that song too.

Cheers, Gunar
