When this OSC will be over, i'll ask you how the ..... have you obtained the Toms and that "sweep" sound, and i hope you'll like to teach me.
I wasted 10 days trying to get a decent tomtom sound, and i haven't found any preset to be used as a "pink/white noise" source.... i felt lucky to be able to obtain the kick and the "stick / hihat" sounds i used in my track....

Have included updates until 4.99. Looks I'll have to purchase soon again. With their extremly fair prizing its not a question.

Enjoyed your track.

How's it coming along everyone? Noticed a lot of tracks already :D Haven't heard them yet but will try to soon to get an idea of what other people are coming up with while there is still time before the end of this month, and maybe it'll give me some more ideas. Synthmaster is probably one of my favorite synths so far, without the osc i probably would've never discovered it :hihi: Btw, anyone manage to create some good risers and fall fx that they could share the preset to for the full version since the player can't save or load. I can just stream them with the demo :tu: Cheers

@Tjgoa - There is a community-put-together set of patches that may have what you are looking for. I *think* that it can be loaded into Player if you don't have the full version.

Very creative, and thanks for sharing. Where did you get the images for the video? Is this your artwork?

What app(s) did you use for this? And what was 'minimum of effort'? 1 hour? 10 hours?

I like some of the artwork and effects you picked for it. As was mentioned, it feels like some rhythm sync'd stuff would have been great. For example, the chorus sort of part is crazy enough, it would have benefitted from some fast switching scenes to the rhythm of the track to tell the story. Like a bunch of war pictures or something. As it was, I didn't quite understand but nonetheless was interesting to watch with the track. Keep it up! Would love to see how future videos turn out. :)

@ontrackp and z.prime -

I used iMovie, which comes with macs like I am guessing Windows Movie Maker does (not sure as I have never had a PC).

Anyway, what you saw took almost an hour. The effects are all standard functionality of the application and the pictures were found looking for creative commons licensed photos based on "angry" and "sad girl" as search terms. I wish it were my artwork, but it was done by people far more talented than me. Not sure why I picked those search terms; seemed to fit the music, I thought.

I would like to keep doing movies for songs, though I am really learning about writing and mixing at this point, so I am not sure that I will ever put a ton of time into the videos. I definitely get what you are saying about the rhythmic aspects of the video. It should be tied in better with the music.

Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

Keep up the good work Grok.

I was curious about the images as I have a "thing" about licensing so I was very glad to see that you used images that are legally available. As content creators, we have to be careful that we do not contribute to the idea that all creative work should be free for anyone to use for anything they want -- it would be hard for us creative types to make a living!

iMovie is a great starting point for video editing -- easy to use with lots of nice built in tools.

It's been very interesting to see how many of the OSC participants also have an interest in visual arts -- as evidenced by the pics that are used with the songs on soundcloud.

Good luck!

Plus one to that. (c) is so important to observe.

But ...
Anyone can use any of my pictures if they wish ... mainly flowers, some travel stuff, animals, birds. I have won some prizes for my flower photography. I am simply USELESS at taking pictures of people :-(

PS Did an interesting visual art project in 2001 ... http://music.york.ac.uk/rimm/
Designed and wrote the graphics system (real time moving stuff, not static). Also had to interact with the soloist on stage and the computer (a SGI Origin 2000 8 processor beast).

So... Considering my plans for the coming weeks I realize I won't have any more time to work on this so after some quick mixing with ears ruined by crying children and a rather nasty cold, here's my entry for OSC #73:

Discord in the Master Bedroom
https://soundcloud.com/neophile/mehum-d ... er-bedroom

This month mehum is a fusion jam band from 1978...

37 instances of Synthmaster Player Free. All using stock patches, except most drums using community provided patches and mostly by jasinski. (Thanks so much for the work put in by everyone!) If needed I can make a rundown of all patches used...
Three tracks have filter cutoff automation.

Daw: Reaper 4

Track effects used:
VoS SlickHDR x2
TDR/VoS SlickEQ x4
TDR Kotelnikov x3
Klanghelm IGVI x4
VoS epicVerb x3
Simulanalog Rednef Twin
Simulanalog JCM900

Master chain:
ReaEQ
SlickHDR
SlickEQ
Kotelnikov
Limiter No6

I hope someone find some enjoyment out of it even if I'm not counting on getting any prices for this :) I had fun making it at least! Most parts are not programmed but played by either keyboard or midi guitar (You Rock Guitar YRG-1000!). I tried using a really crappy midi drum kit I have for drums but a combination of the kit and me being bad made me give it up... Drums and percussion are a combination of programmed and played on keyboard.

Good luck everyone!

Nice. I used the You Rock YRG-1000 for my entry this month too! Represent! It's impossible NOT to look cool while playing that thing..

Just for FUN. I found this quote from Music Radar in 2012.

"It seems quite reasonable that you could build an entire track using SynthMaster 2.5 alone and not be left wanting at any turn (perhaps bar the effects, which are easily supplanted with third-party ones). "
