Spire. So many (well sounding) EDM soundsets for it, that i lost count. More or less the successor of Sylenth1, i would say.

Questions you should consider asking and answering.

What's most important to you? Sounds, presets, deep programming ability, ease of use?

How much money do you have to spend? That could rule out certain things.

Are you 32 or 64 bit Windows or are you MAC? That can also rule out some synths.

Is future support important to you? Synths like Sylenth1 haven't been updated in years and others like Alchemy aren't even sold anymore.

What features do you want with your synth? Sequencer, FX, Mod Matrix, etc.?

If you have no idea what you want, other than you want to do EDM (almost anything can) you're going to end up swimming through an ocean of possibilities.
Well if people would read my OP they would see that I mentioned 3 synths already. I was asking for opinions about those. Which I already said I've tried. Maybe I should change the title of the thread.

I am not so sure he already got Omnisphere, to me it sounds like he is considering it, but is open for alternative suggestions as well...

Have you tried farting into a microphone and putting an arp on it? :hihi:
I was thinking of trying that so I could get into the beatport top 100 and make it big. Lol

Best for EDM and trance for me is u-he synths. I want the Omnisphere II upgrade too. I think for pure synth music you are better off with proper oscillators and filters than samples. Samples limit what sounds you can come up with. Don't forget Trillian some very nice bass sounds in there.

I see. I misinterpreted your OP. So you've narrowed it down to those 3 synths.

Well, the same questions apply. What's important to you?

IMO, Zebra is the most versatile as far as programming goes.

Omnisphere has the widest sound palette because of all the samples. As a synth, it's not as flexible as Zebra 2 though Omni 2 will improve in this area.

Dune 2 is flexible in another manner whereas you can modulate each patch down to individual voices, which is really pretty cool. It has a nice thick sound thanks to its excellent detune. As a synth goes, it's not nearly as flexible as Zebra 2 and I don't think you can get nearly the different kinds of sounds out of it as you can Zebra 2.

Of course price wise, Omni is way more expensive than the other 2 combined, with Dune 2 being the cheapest of the 3. And it should be. IMO, it is the "worst" of the 3, not that it is a bad synth in any respect. But if we're comparing them, Dune 2 goes on the bottom.

Programming wise, Zebra 2 is the most complex and hardest to learn. You get more factory sounds than Dune 2, which only comes with 400, but not nearly as many as Omnisphere, which is close to 10,000.

The 3 synths have 3 totally different sounds and are, IMO, not interchangeable. Don't expect to get what you can out of Omni out of either of the other 2. Zebra 2 can MAYBE emulate Dune 2 in some areas with a lot of work in programming it, but you'll have an easier time getting those sounds out of Dune 2. Conversely, Zebra 2 can make sounds that neither of the other synths can make...period.

The only one I don't own is Dune 2 but have been demoing it for a few days now. I like it and will consider getting it.

But if somebody said to me I had to give up all my synths but one, of those 3, Zebra 2 would be the one I keep because it is the most versatile, programming wise, of the 3.

My 2 cents for whatever they're worth.

Hopefully, I answered your question better this time.

10k factory presets?! If you give each a 10-second listen, you will spend more than a day trying them all :hihi:

if i was looking to buy something, i want to know how it suits me personally. You can get a hundred opinions here, but none of them matter, as its YOU that will be using it to make YOUR music. Demo version are simply the best way ever.

Maybe you need a reading comprehension class. Go back and read the original post. I said I tried them already. There's nothing wrong with trying a product and looking for more opinions. You do research and ask questions before you buy something so you don't waste your money.

For EDM, rather HIVE than Zebra

Not that Zebra can't do the sounds you want, but HIVE is more tooled up for that kind of sound.
