Buffer size does affect performance, the plugin internally uses 512 samples for TIGHT and the "(LL)" algorithms, and 2048 for CLASSIC and INTERWEAVE. So for a set-and-forget buffer size I'd probably go with 1024. Also, we've found that the drivers for IO boxes make an impact on CPU more than one'd think (as that load typically won't show in a host's CPOU load meters).

It's about 17-18% of one thread (so half of that on one core) of my 3gHz 8-core E5 Mac Pro.

Also, the number of instances will depend strongly on how the host you're using distributes the load across available cores. Some hosts will schedule all instances of one plugin type to the same core, or all plugins that are within one signal path to the same core etc, so you may run into bottlenecks because of that (the annoying "I'm getting a CPU overload while 6 of 8 cores are idling around" scenario...).

If it works out as intended, we may be showing them at Musikmesse. Where we'll be serving excellent single malt scotch and espresso like every year.
Hint c'mon!!!!

Ha nothing would surprise me with them, every release is always a WTF how did they do that. Have you used Pitchmap ? The only major issue I have with Morph is that I never get any work done, it's far to easy to lose hours with this thing. :D
Seriously, as always Denis and co have yet again produced another stunning plugin.

Love it, bought it. Thanks for this great plug in. Looking forward to the planned additions, as discussed earlier in this thread! :tu:

Thanks to all the ilok whiners for highjacking and screwing the thread, as usual. And wasting half of the pages in this thread :tu:

That's how you spell baited without referring to something very private.
is it now?

Clearly, it is not.

I stand most thoroughly corrected, and I learned something as well.

We considered that. Some stuff you really don't want to modify though :D

We've had to scrap one project because the code demanded to design its own GUIs and insisted on pink with green dots for the colors, and it kept listening to German folk music in the office. These sentient algorithms can REALLY be a PITA, lemme tell ya.

I'm working on a song right now that has pretty much constant synth leads all the way through. I'm thinking the next step might be to split them up into separate tracks and morph from on sound to the next and repeat that process all the way through. It would be a drastically evolving lead sound that continues with it's basic motif. I'm intrigued.

That sounds like an awesome idea.

Did I mention that the formant knob is fun to play with? That in itself offers a vast range of tones without having to step out to another tool and then return.

As I have Melodyne and use it as a creative sound design tool a lot in polyphone mode, repitching/pitch-quantizing all sorts of things, I thought I was covered in this area. Then I watched the Musikmesse video in which Dennis abuses that Michael Jackson song via a Midi keyboard. Ever since I am refusing to demo Pitchmap, as I would loose hours and hours exploring it. The good thing with Morph for me is, that it has already become part of my toolbox, so I can use it for my professional sound design work and easily justify the hours spent with it :)

Yeah... damn it. Now I gotta have Pitchmap, too. It looks like way too much fun to not be playing with.

Yesterday I morphed a flute phrase from an upcoming library with a Serum pad, which set the tonality for the phrase (major7). The results were stunning, the flute phrase turned into some sort of vocal-ish-vocoder-like-of-sound, while the pad adapted the timbre and amplitude of the flute phrase - like a breathing synth, together they formed something totally different. So I sampled about a minute of the repeating phrase morphing with the pad while automating the morph stages and formant filter. Played in a granular sampler and layering it with the original flute phrase, using long grain times and several overlapping grain streams, at different octaves, assigning grain position to Aftertouch so you can scan through the samples - this turns out to be a very amazing one finger phrase-pad. So much to explore...

Oh, back to the iLok thing now...
I just made some further experiments with the flute phrase-pad-combo:
