This is a free jazz bebop session recorded in real conditions in the bright air of may this year. Not maybe the revolution in jazz for the 100.000th time again, but our vision of jazz and a decent track.

Features Dee Dee on guitar, bebop on keys & al. on bass and drums (Thx to them 8) ) It wasn't our first meeting, but our first on jazz territory.

The track is a wild take of the second part of the session that day, totally and 100% improvised. Only the drums were seriously reconsidered and reprogrammed afterwards. This is why some parts may sound somehow hesitant, but not that much. Despite the fact, we didn't wanted to modify a single note, even the few really false ones, and concentrated on mixing and mastering ( Oh dear!, mixing hasn't been easy, not even sure it's done yet...)

The track is 16 minutes long and the file around 23mb, bit variable mp3 encoded :

Hope you'll like it! :D

Well, it filled the background of my office for 15 minutes. Can't say as much of it will stick with me, though! Were there any predetermined pseudo-heads or "hit points" used? Needs some motif to anchor it.

Well first sorry for you vishalshetye and your 56k modem, that's right it could have been smaller in 22khz 64kbps mono but for some reason I didn't choose that format... next time I'll release sthg smaller
But please take a minute to visit http://bebop.audioshot.net/ I just added a few "pickles" you can download as if you had broadband already (All of them less than 950kb : http://bebop.audioshot.net/pickle1_clownyfunk_5bars.mp3 ; http://bebop.audioshot.net/pickle2_saxrhodesblues.mp3 ; http://bebop.audioshot.net/pickle3_jazzloop.mp3) :D.

Seriously about the missing hot spots on the track this is a problem we found too, and we have to solve it for the next session. For that one we have an excellent plan and it's only about organising the dinner : a friend from japan on the flute. He just arrived here for the summer holidays and already listened to the music, only thing is... he asked for scores... Hmmm , got to find a way to arrange and print scores now, because as we did this, there was absolutely no plan at all, we just hit record and played. We had played a first set before just to see if we would find some chords we spontaneously had in common to start improvising, that's all.

Other thing I see missing in this is a drum solo, that would be classy ain't it? lol 8)

But waiting for the breaking solo to take place in the next one of that kind, you can still listen to it as to a "music for waiting room"

so next time : 1)we cook a fine dinner as an introduction ; 2) we invite our japanese flutenist friend ; 3) Dee Dee brings his Roland Jazz Chorus amp with the monstruous whawha pedal combo he's hiding shamelessly in his garage, and we rock solid (if I may say :P)

You should copy the new links I just edited on the last post because I had made a mistake and they were faulty, but now it's ok (edited on previous post, and still available at http://bebop.audioshot.net/ )

I just tried to access your tune on the other thread and on this one, but still no luck with them :?

What it says exactly is << Sorry, this site is temporarily unavailable!
