Yet another guy with a nice looking setup using dodgy software?
That's not Kill Frenzy that's "Tea Boy" from Belgium speaking with an American accent. I noticed he can afford a TR-8 but not able to cough up for a legit Sylenth licence just like that little teen Garrix.

@FutureMusic :smack: :uhuhuh:
there's an 'artist' called Tea Boy?

Maybe its legit then.... even so... BURN THE WITCH

there's room on the bandwagon for everyone!

I want it cleared up. A proof that it isn't Team AiR should be easy to produce, but likely it is not.
You never know. Ruben from Lennardigital posted on their forums that most big artists spotted with warezed versions actually did own a legit version. So really I wouldn't pre-judge. Of course IF it is a warezed version in that video, which is my main point.
That would mean either they are using a cracked version to deliberately seem 'cool' or they bought the legit version afterwards to cover their backs. If it's the former that is worse.
As far as i read, some are using a warezed version to be able to use custom skins, or, if the copy protection doesn't allow it, to use the plugin on 2 or more computers at once. I don't know what the reasons are, and i don't want to defend that behavior, just wanted to bring in what the respective company has to say to this.

Not trying to defend FM either, it's obvious that, going by the frequency of warez showing up in their video, they're trying to cause controversy, maybe with more mag sales in mind. At least, i wouldn't be surprised about it. The thing is just that they have to be careful about that, because you don't bite the hand that feeds you, and if Urs wants to pull back the u-he ads, other companies will follow, if they keep on doing stuff like that. Not saying that it happened here, but even if it says "TE", or "TEA", the controversy is there. Which is of course very counterproductive, as, like i said, it will probably give FM more public attention, and it will show the attitude of million heavy artists towards warez, which will affect the people trying to imitate their idols. So i believe it'd really be much more productive to hull the blanket of silence above stuff like this. I mean, you have to look for somethign specific anyway, seriously, If i had watched that vid, i would never have even realized that it says "TEA" on the plugin's registration details. You have to examine the videos under the microscope, and that alone shows a certain "hysteria" about things like this.

Ask your friends how much they have spent on their car, fishing rods, surf boards etc etc, and ask them how much they have spent and how much income they have earned from their hobby? music is your hobby!

Well, the implications can be pretty substantial. What if this video gives Lennar leverage to pull albums this guy helped produce?

It's not done by those guys buying a legit copy afterwards. The price of a Sylenth copy is the license price "before usage". However, quite oftenly, the price for a license "after usage" is a magnitude higher, commonly set by the license holder and finally agreed on in court.

If those guys really need to boast about using warez, I can't wait for one to do so with our stuff. My lawyer would get teary eyes.

Also, I'm not sure if this is valid elsewhere too, but in Czech Republic, it's illegal to even store a warez software on a drive. So this "I have an unused legit copy!" excuse might be another nonsense from law standpoint.

Well, there's no excuse anyway. It's not a skinned version, and Sylenth1 afaik has lenient licensing.

I wonder how many people have a name starting with "TEA" and enter this in all-caps while registering Sylenth1?
On the other end of the scale, I wonder how many people have a crack by TEAM AIR and use that to unluck Sylenth1?

I can see some tipping over happening.
My other host is Bruce Forsyth

It's pretty clear that they are obfuscating. MiniMogue doesn't get shunted off to the side...

It's funny how after Sylenth1 was pulled to one side presumably to hide the "TEA ..." the mood of the video changed as well. Great "Oh s**t..." moment there.

The guy in the video put Sylenth window to the right to hide the registration name. The right side of Live remains visible when he does it. So it's not an edit by FM to hide it. But it seems they skipped some close-ups with full frontal Sylenth.

Doesn't make sense to me. If he was scared that someone sees it, he could easily told FM to edit it out, and film again, without the first letters in the picture. He also slides the Minimoog window from side to side in the same way. I would guess it's just some nervour behavior. Anyway, all guessing and speculation. As has been said, it would have been easy for FM to avoid this kind of discussion and controversy. The question is, why didn't they edit it out? Really looks to me like they were out to boost sales of their mag. Which is of course really bad style.

If it were me I'd be too embarrassed to even ask them to edit it out.

Why? The team from FM who did the filming saw it anyway.

If they have two or more sources to cut into that reel then it is an edit by FM to hide it. That registered area does not appear in those screencasts because they were edited out. And more importantly the partial "TEA" that was still in frame was left in on purpose too.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't in the room during the editing process so I can't say for sure, but it is my understanding that in general everything left in the final production is done so on purpose. They know what they did. And they will continue to do so as long as it doesn't hurt their bottom line.
