Since there was no mention of an updated audio engine, I think it's safe to assume there haven't been changes to the sound. Otherwise there is the potential to change the sound of peoples mixes without warning. Even if there was a tiny improvement I think they would mention if the engine was adjusted even a bit. But I'll let Andrew confirm that.xtrax wrote:Nope, it's not placebo.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Yes I love the 0.0.1 update placebo effect as well!xtrax wrote:Amazing how new version of B2 sounds!
(I am right that there were no sound engine changes right?)
Take a files or make your own test.

Performance improvements generally means in terms of resources, ie. cpu usage. But I'll let Andrew confirm that.xtrax wrote:Galbanum wrote:... mostly compatibility/maintenance stuff... nothing incredibly interesting... maybe some very minor performance improvements by virtue of using the latest and greatest compilers...

Exactly, Placebo is real. It's just in your head!Sampleconstruct wrote:The sound most definitely hasn't changed a bit, but if placebo works then it just works.

Fwiw there was no (intentional) change the sound. AFAIK there is no change to the sound period.

I've seen xtrax post about sound improvements to updates of B2 and Aether before when the sound hasn't changed, but I think it's just because he's always re-impressed by the sound! I get that sometimes with synths. I'll open them up one day and they sound better than usual! When you really love how something sounds, I guess it seems to get better all the time!

Probably something to do with Air Pressure, of perhaps ears that have been overused have less sensitivity to the sweet frequencies. Maybe the ears were full of wax and got cleaned.. Or the placebo effect..Echoes in the Attic wrote:I've seen xtrax post about sound improvements to updates of B2 and Aether before when the sound hasn't changed, but I think it's just because he's always re-impressed by the sound! Kudos to Andrew and Denis!
The sound hasn't changed, but dynamic response in the low mid's are quite better.(warmness)
On this examples that I made is obvious, if you have pro studio full range monitors it can be distinguished.

There is noting in the B2 manual about AP M 1, 2 ,4.
Here is example to use it on the damping parameter.
It creates longer sustain for the tail.
In the attachment is example Hall.
To compensate the EQ caused shorter sustain Dump Filter sub menu choose AP M filters.

I'm nowhere near my studio and likely won't be for a week or two, but the last time I was trying to quickly flip through B2 presets, it froze on me. Froze as in unresponsive GUI and unable to quit the host, which can lead to lost work.
This was using B2-64 in Nuendo 6.5-64 on W7-64.
Seeing as we're pretty much at the RC, I'd appreciate it if anyone with a similar config could recklessly flip B2 presets and see if the problem can't be reproed. Thanks.

I would like to suggest you to use single engine presets.
Even my 8 core Intel Xeon cannot play some dual engine presets that Andrew created with his super Mac.
I am attaching here my new updated internal factory folder "Single Engine Presets" for all users.
With the latest sound that I really like.
