Had a chance to work with it some in the last week. There are now a couple of very basic tutorials up.

I have to say...this thing is a game changer for me. Truly wonderful sound design tool.

Once you learn how it works it becomes a very powerful tool!

If only the designer who helped Steve design the interface for Xfer Serum would redo the interfaces of all of the Exponential Audio plugins, especially Excalibur.

Amen!!.....

R2 and Phoenix are now the only two reverbs I use, so lord knows I love the sound and think software wise Michael is the top of Reverb DSP. But his GUI's? Sorry, I got the reverbs in spite of the GUI, I am here trying out for the fourth time Excalibur and I really can't get past the horrible GUI, and then the ONLY choice of time settings in delay in 2015 without direct 1/4, 1/8 etc notes?
Sorry NO!
There is a reason why everyone else does this...please rethink not giving this as an option.
I am sure that Excalibur sounds great but there are very few presets that are my taste, and so trying to roll my own requires familiarity/comfort/know how with the GUI...

I concur :tu:

I can think of a number of devs which would benefit massively from hiring a specialised UI/UX designer.

Boughtened!

$89 for us since we have the super bundle (pulled the trigger before I noticed we'd have saved a few dollars by paying in Euros, though... and by few, I mean five or less with exchange fees).

Oh, and y'all quit y'all's whinin'... OK?

Would you rather have the Total Recall boob knobs back?

Bought it today, last minute before the intro price expired. This plugin is just too special to pass on, after 5 minutes into the demo the sound quality totally convinced me and I don't understand all the lamenting over the GUI, takes a little time to grasp but then it's no rocket science. Made a bunch of presets within the first 15 minutes or so, happy customer here!

jeez, if you think the GUIs are bad NOW, damn, should have seen them before!!!
They're not too bad now.

Well, you are a preset creating wizard. Doesn't surprise me that you can get around any GUI. :)

PS ... I'm not lamenting over the GUI, just making the statement that it could be better if a super-talented GUI designer went to work on it.

Same here, it's not that cumbersome.

I started recording four concert toms today, this recording was a first microphone setup test, I just jammed with a click on my head, as I only got Excalibur this noon I had to mangle this impro with a modified preset, further modifying it on the fly.

I wasn't particularly addressing my anti-lamento at you, Bill - it was just a general statement, worth nothing but my own humble opinion.

I would have bought this if it wasn't ilok 2 only (I have an iLok 1- expensive to upgrade just for this! No idea why they wont allow iLok 1 hardware authorisation!)
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
