I thought it is Euro Drugs Master!

Studio One or Ableton Live would be my choice :)
Don't think Ableton has bounce in place does it? That was one of the OPs requirements.

It does. Two ways actually. You can either freeze the track and flatten it, or make a new track, select "Resample" as an input and then record whatever you wish to solo at the moment.

It works but not as easy as the Bounce feature in DAWs such as Logic where you could specify what track it goes to, or use the same track, or if you include effects or not, tail effect or not and so on. With a single popup view.

Yes you are right. I thought it does. I don't have Live now but I remember when I had it, I felt everything is made easy for making dance music. There are also many good tutorials about EDM using Ableton Live (the mixing part as well as composing). The Midi and audio effects are great and using the Session View is a big plus as a sketch board.

Anyway, I believe the OP should demo the suggested DAWs in this thread and find what's suits him/her. The requirements are easily adjusted when we like something really a lot.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

For a laptop and EDM, you'd be well suited with a simplified sequencer and mixer, and access to some easy way of looping and combining sounds. Bitwig is perfect for that. It's like a cleaned-up version of Ableton. Cubase, Logic and Pro Tools are big, bulky sequencers, and they're fantastic for advanced music, but I have to admit that Bitwig's loop workflow is the way to go for EDM producers. It was built for that.
Love. :tu:

For anyone with a Windows laptop that has a touch screen, the latest version of Sonar is an excellent choice.

Uncle E what is your preferred DAW of choice? I think you use maschine.

i'd have said try FLStudio for portable EDM but its bounce 'workaround' is pants.
so probably Live/Bitwig

Logic may be bulky, but workflow is top notch and fast, it has superb bounce in place and it's no surprise so many dance producers use it.

I use Maschine and Studio One. I usually start a project in Maschine and then export stems to Studio One when I'm ready to track live instruments or mix. If the project involves live instruments from the beginning, I'll start in Studio One and load Maschine as a plugin.

usually it's like this:

The first choice for dance producers is Ableton, then FL studio and then Logic and Cubase. More people are getting in touch with the newer daw like Studio One and Bitwig (i haven't heard any track from this btw)

Really depends on personal choice. The OP is coming from Cubase so the most natural choice to start with should be Studio One or Logic since they are more similar to Cubase than other daws.

will be cool if the OP give us more informations about his workflow, how he came up with ideas and also what type of EDM is talking about since the term is a little bit generic: could be Lady Gaga's edm or big room/club track.

I don't see how that minor distinction would be helpful in choosing a DAW for a laptop. Are you suggesting that you might advise a different DAW for someone who creates Lady Gaga-esque EDM than you would for someone who creates big room/club tracks? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding or reading too much into it.

True. There's been a strong shift towards Logic in the studio world lately. Everybody loves that it's got great sounds right out of the box.

Also, if he didn't already, whether he's on Mac or PC.
