Please do, its the only way us iLok 1 users can hear it  :D

Mangling a classical guitar impro (samples from Ambient Strings) with a custom preset - the routing and modulation options are awesome in this thing, so is the overall sound quality, I love it!

Beautiful!

But that's what you're doing, no?
Sorry Simon, I should have known better, KVR aint the place :P …sorry to clog the thread

Excalibur sounds awesome.

But a hard-drive auth method will gain more customers, and keep a few too!

Don't be sorry towards me man :), it ain't my thread nor my product, but the constant Ilocking of all kinds of product threads (on KVR and Gearslutz) totally gets on my nerves. Most people with an iLock-phobia won't use the hard-drive method either, there seems to be an anti-Pace-religion around these premises.

Mangling one of my Tremor beats with a fresh custom preset, tweaking things on the fly, woaaaa Excalibur sure is a deep mangler.

These are great Simon! This thing sounds gorgeous. Any tips or tricks to share? I'm making headway but I feel like I've only scratched the surface.

Thank's, Andy - well, I've only used this for a day so tips and tricks might be a bit early to share. The first thing I had to understand without reading the manual is, that each of the 4 voices is mono, so if you want to create e.g. a stereo reverb, you need to use 2 voices with the reverb FX selected and pan them left right. The routing matrix lets you select from numerous input options, as each voice has 2 inputs, complex routings almost as deep as in More Feedback Machine (u-he) can be achieved and filter modulations can be applied in each feedback path. Then almost every parameter has it's own modulation window, the good thing here is that you select the "modulation shape" within each window and the generators on the upper left only supply the tempo/speed (either tempo-synced or time-based), this is great, as you're not stuck with some LFOs with a fixed shape, but each modulation parameter can have it's own shape, depth and phase. And much more...as soon as I find more time I shall make a tutorial for it.

Thanks Simon. There are a mind boggling number of modulation options here.

I'm happy Michael uses iLok so he can focus on coding great reverbs and effects rather than waste time creating some crappy copy protection system that will only get cracked. iLok not only keeps Michael focused on his job, it makes sure he gets paid for his work, which he deserves.

This is not a thread to bitch about iLok, it's a thread about Exponential Audio Excalibur.
Totally agree, if people don't like ilok 2 don't buy it, nobody is forcing you into anything. Let's get the focus of this thread back onto Excalibur.

I'm really liking this plugin, found the GUI a little confusing at first but now I've spent some time with it I'm getting great results.

Really wanted to buy this. Found out about Excalibur and the intro price, just as the site must have been closing down, on the last day of the sale. I immediately emailed support to ask if i could still get the intro price, and they didnt even have the heart to tell me no. They just said get on the mailing list and watch for future events.

Its too bad they werent willing to reach a few extra inches for another prospective customer.
There ya have it...

The sale went on for quite a while. The developer has to draw a line in the sand somewhere. Michael was probably quite busy during the last few hours of the introductory pricing depending on the level of site automation. Your implication that he should go some "extra mile" for you is rather unfair.

Excalibur will sound just as great at the full price which is still a steal compared to what you get.

It is a very nice and kind reply, if you understand what Michael is saying.

I am totally out of money atm and had to pass Excalibur intro price,
but I know as a Phoenix owner thats not a problem, just wait a little bit.

Well you can still try the demo to see if you really need or like it.
