Rick Naqvi posted a photo of a new hardware unit on FB from the Musikmesse, a guys asked if he/presonus will presenting Studio One 3 but he skipped the question answering to another guy about the hardware prince. Guys i'm start thinking that Studio One is not ready, probably will be release on "late summer"

Of course, we'll have to wait for the demo to see it in better resolutions, and especially in person, but there are some worrying conclusions that can be drawn from these screenshots.

By retaining the elements of old GUI (and we've seen how well that worked for Windows 8) in effects, it doesn't seem like they've gone vector. That is simply not a good decision, considering where the things are going regarding screen resolutions. And while removing the unnecessary chrome and shadows and those always ugly curves from plugin windows and transport bar is, as far as I'm concerned, more than welcome, I do hope that everything won't end up looking a bit too squashed, as it does look in the third screenshot.

As for the dark GUI, unless the fonts and all the graphical elements are high res, I find them rather difficult on my eyes. White fonts particularly. And it doesn't look like they've updated the fonts...

It's had to tell, but I do hope the changes in Pro EQ include less jagged lines. Cause those are really an eyesore.

I have hoped that they would make sends permanently positioned to the right side, next to the master level, but that obviously didn't happen. And that makes me wonder what else, out of all those numerous and perfectly reasonable feature requests users have made over the years, didn't happen? Especially those nagging little details in functionality that you get used to, but from time to time still piss you off cause they are clearly the result of negligence.

Will it still be impossible to easily align sends section in the mixer? Will the track list in midi editor have its own keyboard shortcut? Will it be possible to double click on an instrument (or effect) in the browser and have them appear in a selected track, or will it still require drag-and-drop? Or the really big one - will ordering tracks in the mixer and arrange windows with 3rd party multi-out instruments still be a nightmare? And will there be any enhancements in MIDI editor? The one thing I miss the most from Live 9 is the ability to stretch and squeeze and invert multiple notes at the time...

Those are just the things that immediately come to mind and if they aren't addressed in v3, I have to say I will not have much incentive to upgrade. Especially if I don't upgrade to Windows 10, on which Studio One does not run as efficiently as it does on Windows 7. Well, at least it didn't in the beta I've tried for a couple of weeks.

If theyve planned release for late summer then I very much doubt they would of shown screenshots of it in the preview of their new products. Otherwise why loose the hype of initial announcement? I think theyre going to announce it either today or tomorrow. But then again, even if they announce it, it doesnt mean it will come out instantly. also this is a reply tweet from presonus after someone asked about S1 v3 "I'm sorry, PreSonus offices are closed for the day. We'll get back to you on that . . . . ;)"

It won't. They've said as much publicly multiple times over multiple years.

At any rate, with this mini-leak I suppose we can move from ... "it's not coming because all the devs jumped ship" ... to... "I can't see very much in the tiny picture and there's no real details yet, but here's what sucks about it." :hihi:

Am I the only one who noticed coloured fader caps and gain reduction metering?

Now these are features that I like! 8)

Not sure about the flat design, that will get some time to get used to by my side.

all i can say is for the gain reduction metering alone and the new GUI i will update.

Also, if I can ever save up 2k, I would definitely get the new control surface for the awesome s1 integration.

PS. Seems like presonus could have a opportunity to grow its customer base a lot with these two releases, with AVID creating industry dissatisfaction for their products, Presonus could really step into the light here.

Really excited to see what the future holds for s1

 I for one will be stocking up on popcorn whenever they do announce something about it. I have a feeling it will be quite an entertaining show around these parts. :tu:

Lovers, haters, bashers, fanbois, it will run the gamut in true KVR style. :hihi: It's been a while since Studio One took a really good roller coaster ride here so... should be entertaining at a minimum.

Sorry, but the links don't go anywhere, and the screenshots look suspicious.

Sorry, Mr. Suaza was talking....not me

@V3/thread/etc: Who knows what's going on. Some of those screen shots look nice. But since I've not seen an official statement I'm holding off until there is tangible evidence.

I think it would be a smart move if making a controller and a version of StudioOne that highly integrates it - in every aspect. And since hardware also protect unauthorized copies - v3 should not be sold without hardware. And maybe do iLok or Syncrosoft protection for version not sold with hardware.

A bit like Avid do - with PT HD version - but fraction of cost, since Avid stuff is overpriced like nothing else. And Presonus would include a controller as well really taking up the competition with Avid for the large studio venues.

Not fond of StudioOne myself, mostly because how they overcomplicated midi recording with external synths. And also being asked to turn to my retailer rather than the excellent ticket support system they got. No chance to get a dialog on reporting issues etc - not for me.

So my guess - either hardware lock or sold with their own hardware.

I like Softube Console 1 idea - button to directly position on a track, and then knobs and stuff to control the channelstrip on that track. If also made to position daw on a track - instead of this useless Faderport idea with previous/next which gets lost inside hidden tracks and track folders anyway.
