Oh, that's a picture of me. Today. Have a rare condition which has caused me to remain in baby form. I'm hoping one day I will grow taller than 17 inches. However, that day has not yet arrived. I've tried various ideas to stretch myself. First, I simply held on to a car as it was pulling out of a parking lot, but I only was severely injured after that attempt. Next, I tried to hang from a cliff with a large amount of weight affixed to my feet. However, I hadn't tied my shoes properly so it slipped off, and since I was hanging from a branch, I was flung rather high into the air, landing on the cliff above again severely injuring myself. I then turned to doctors. They, however, were puzzled that I could even talk, as I still appeared to be a baby and offered no help other than rocking me to sleep and feeding me bottles. So, I'm still trying to find a solution. Ideas?

Well done all. Spent a lot of time listening to everyone's tracks this month which was cool as there were so many good ones and zero bad ones.
Lots of strong compositions too which may be a result of the player? Either way I was pleased to hear plenty of you pushing your compositions to exciting new places (hope that doesn't sound cheesey? ...it's sincere
) this month.
Good luck all

This month I scored my tracks a bit differently. The tracks that are a 5 will be something magical in a more personal way
. Tracks that are 3 or 4 might have tremendous technical skill in composition, mixing, or sound (4 reserved for something that gets me feeling something, and 3 for a tremendously good tune, but not feeling it)
, and 2 will be tracks that are interesting, or admirable, in various ways, but not settling with my ears well
. A 1 will be reserved for something that seems little effort was put into.

Losing my mind. Much more quickly than I had hoped...bjporter wrote:This month I scored my tracks a bit differently. The tracks that are a 5 will be something magical in a more personal way. I just wanna do better than last month. Of course after that pitiful showing, there's nowhere to go but up.Tjgoa wrote:I think sometime after 12 pm kvr time bj releases the results, if i remember correctly, so maybe shortly after 2 hours..

If that's the case you should definitely spend more time than a few hours on the track, unless you were kidding when you said you only spend a few hours, and also use all the time you have for the competition, ie no early entrieswagtunes wrote:I just wanna do better than last month. Hmmm...not really sure. I do know that I spent longer on 73 than I did on 72. I spent longer on 74 than 73. I don't traditionally spend countless hours on anything. I don't have that kind of patience. If I was doing this for a living, maybe, but I can't see spending 100 hours on a track that is essentially just for a "fun" competition. So when I'm happy with it, that's it...I'm done.Tjgoa wrote:If that's the case you should definitely spend more time than a few hours on the track, unless you were kidding when you said you only spend a few hours, and also use all the time you have for the competition, ie no early entrieswagtunes wrote:I just wanna do better than last month. Besides, I don't have mad production skills anyway so no matter how much time I spent on it, it would still never sound as good as the guys who are obviously very talented in that area. And spending 100 hours only to still find myself in the lower half of the voting would only make me feel that much worse.
This is supposed to be fun, and to that end I give it the attention that it deserves to make it fun and not turn it into a job.

For each of the osc's I've entered I plan to do a remake of the tracks using samples when needed and other vsti's, maybe even a new arrangement at parts. Then do a release of them, so to me the osc is like a foundation for tracks that will be released. So I wouldn't ever call it a waste of time, plus the more time you spend creating the better you get, so it's never a waste of time even If I didn't plan to release any of them. If you want better production skills you must have the experience and a bit of patience, but experience is best. I think there are diffenently talented musicians but productions skills are mostly all from experience imo, so don't count yourself short
