recommend some EBM / Futurepop / Darkwave

I'm on a quest for more music which sounds good in the car. Particularly in the area of EBM, Futurepop, Darkwave, over to gothic stuff and so on. Or anything else that seems to fit.
I'm thinking along the lines of Haujobb, Covenant, Angels & Agony, Negative Format, Synthetic Dream Foundation, Ayria, Mind.In.A.Box, Birthday Massacre, Collide, old-to-medium FLA (I'm not too fond of their newer stuff), etc.
Curious to see what pops up here.

Mostly familiar to me, but there are some on there I haven't tried and a couple I haven't heard of. I'll check them out.

yeah i figured you probably knew a bunch of those...i mean if you know of haujobb, covenant, and fla...it would be next to impossible to not know about 242, vnv and nitzer ebb...among some others.

of course...my list is all older, kind of classic ebm stuff. im not really up on what passes for ebm lately, as my taste for newer "industrial" has veered more towards the ritual/rhythmic noise, post industrial side of things.

chaosWyrM nailed most of my suggestions, but also check out Clan of Xymox and Cruxshadows
edit: oh yeah, and Funker Vogt is another one I've been listening to a bit recently - similar to VNV Nation.

One of my favourite bands who take goth/darkwave into new directions (for me anyway).

Yeah, I kind of went over to rhythmic noise, powernoise and tribal industrial myself for a while. I think the golden age of EBM that I used to love kind of ran out, but other things are happening. I kind of resented futurepop when it came along -- I especially had it in for VNV Nation for some reason. And I was annoyed when Skinny Puppy came back together so differently after Last Rights and FLA seemed like it lost the way. But there was This Morn' Omina and Ah Cama-Sotz and Converter and Prometheus Burning so it was okay.chaosWyrM wrote:my taste for newer "industrial" has veered more towards the ritual/rhythmic noise, post industrial side of things.
I see they were founded by Ernst Horn from Qntal, which is promising. I'm listening to "Selig" on YouTube and really liking it. Thanks!do_androids_dream wrote:One of my favourite bands who take goth/darkwave into new directions (for me anyway).

I'm the guy from Assemblage 23... if you haven't checked it out yet, I put out a more EBM-oriented album (and remix album) last year that you can check out here: http://surveillance23.bandcamp.com/
