I would like to see them do a bit more with the login page.
Its been the same images for a very long time.
Also, it seems they started doing some compression on the audio.
The quality of the audio is not the same as the original material.

I think most know that streaming on Soundcloud is always 128kpbs irrelevant of uploaded content. If you could download the content then the original file format is honored.PatchAdamz wrote:I would like to see them do a bit more with the login page.

I doubt they use any kind of compression as that's irrelevant for saving bandwidth costs.

Transcoding/compression, unfortunately the results do create artifacts according to Soundcloud management.

Transcoding is not the same same as compression even if there could sometimes maybe maybe lead to some compression like behavior due to similar bit values removed from the bitstream. But there are two different concepts.PatchAdamz wrote:That information is posted..ksandvik wrote:I think most know that streaming on Soundcloud is always 128kpbs irrelevant of uploaded content. If your track is distorted due to transcoding, maybe the original clip is most mixed/mastered properly, for example extreme brick limiting with little breathing headroom for the transcoder to do a decent job. Or an MP3 transcoded track is uploaded with a subsequent transcoding causing artifacts. You would have the same problem with iTunes transcoding, Spotify transcoding, Amazon MP3 transcoding and so on...
