:D
And some are more challenging than others. For example, this standard by Joe Zawinul who'd already had his instrumental Mercy, Mercy, Mercy turned into a hit song in the late 1960s:

I'll let those who enjoy such things check out the Manhattan Transfer version (the lyrics of which were written by Jon Hendricks who made a practice of such things) on your own. :hihi:

i can't hate on the MT version. it was the first version i heard. i might never have discovered 'weather report' without it

as for retrofitting lyrics, joni mitchell did a much better job on 'goodbye pork pie hat', which i discovered via 'shadows and light' due to a love of pat metheny, lyle mays and jaco pastorious

so, it might be that manhattan transfer were responsible for me finding jaco pastorious and joni mitchell. like i said, no hate :hihi:

No, no hate, of course...but just looking at the two screenshots...

But still, when it's all said and done, it's all music.

Don't make the titles too awesome. Imagine my disappointment when I realized that "Dracula Built My Hotrod" was an instrumental. I wanted lyrics about Dracula building a hotrod, damit!

Perhaps Manhattan Transfer did a version...?

by sheep on drugs if my memory serves me correctly.

I think that was Ministry with the Butthole Surfers' singer on guest vocals? Still, Jesus building my hotrod is cool and all, but He's no Dracula.

Also, today I ran into a track called "Bouncin' Beards". Again, no lyrics about bouncing beards. C'mon.

I know a few of their songs and those ones came to mind. A friend introduced me to their music and while I'm sure their intention wasn't for people to find it catchy, I actually do...

I named yesterday night's MicroSampler / Guitar through POG jam session "Slightly Uncouth on the Telly". It just came to me. It's easy. Just set the bar low enough.
