The AU preset system is too different to the VST one, and the way I implemented it in the moment makes it impossible in the AU for the host to restore the full state (i.e. bank) while being able to save single presets. I will have to think more about some way to implement a acceptable solution, but it will probably behave different to the VST version.

For the time being, I rather concentrate on finishing the VST (PC and MAC). I might come back to the AU version at some later stage.

Any chance of a update of the Kujashi Banks presets (new version of the synth dont load .fxb banks)?, thanks.

Thx for the info.

BTW, an interesting thread about cross-platform preset coding issues:

Don't worry. Once the final version is released, I will convert all existing banks.

Thankyou very much, this is one of my favorite Synths.

Thank you so much Martin for sharing this fabulous synth with us! I love it! ;)

Brings back memories. :D We [my band] used to have a Super-JX at the time, amongst others. Great synth, only a bit tedious to program, same as JX-8P. Thankfully, VSTis are so much easier to program. :)

Cheers!

I don't have plans to add the mod wheel to the GUI.
Can you chain plugins in Vestige and LMMS? If so, I could probably hack together a little Mod Wheel GUI only plugin, which is automatable and sends out MIDI CC1.

Martin

Minor update: GUI improvements suggested by ENV1 and some changes to MIDI Learn.

Same link as usual (now posted on the first page)

Thanks for answering man, you must have the patience of a saint!
I checked, you can only put 1 VSTi in Vestige at a time

In my understanding as a non programming user, I don' think the Mod wheel has to be added to the GUI, it only has to have a knob on what is called the VST Plugin control

If the knob is there, it can be dragged to an automation track

This thing sounds so good it's even too good! :) GREAT JOB! I tried side by side with my JX-8P and now I think that mine must have some filter problem :) Apart from jokes, did anybody make the same test? The vst sounds much brighter and seems like the filter opens up much more than the one on my JX8P. So now I don't know if it's the vst that sounds too bright or my JX that sounds muffled and has some issues @@.

Just stopping by to say I am also very much enjoying this VST. Fantastic work :D
A heaping dose of outrageously goofy synth tracks, scores and chiptunes.

I have been messaging Martin but he didn't have time to check it out yet, the old version (PG8X-12-11) sounds snappier than the new one.
I have adjusted every parameter to mirror the previous version, but it just sounds different even without the chorus enabled.

Here is the midi file and the PG8X presets: https://www.mediafire.com/#4aj8ir7gxyhwx
If you don't have time to test it listen to the mp3 in the folder - the older version is 1st, new 2nd.

I like the old sound much better than this new version. Looks like the envelopes are not the same.

I should mention here, that we are still in beta. The sound is not yet set in stone. I am still adjusting some parameters, to capture better the sound of the hardware. The old versions definitely were further away.

Most of the changes in sound you might notice, you should be able to correct for by slightly changing the parameters.

My aim is clearly to capture the character of the hardware, not the one of some previous beta version.

In the last days, I was mainly busy with the GUI and some bugs (mainly in the Midi Learn section), so the "tuning" issue was a bit on ice. I will come back to that later again.

Martin

Thanks Martin!
Well, if I like the old version's sound better it doesn't mean that I am right :)
Do what you need to do, I am just saying the old version is not as sluggish as the new one as beely already said
beely wrote:And yeah, just like the hardware, it's not great for bass - the envelopes are possibly the most sluggish I've come across.
I really appreciate your hard work, but I had to point the difference.
It still is an amazing VSTi.
